I have one really super main character in my story, Myra. But I also have another character, Ibadeken, who is about as close to a main character as you can be with out being the main character. Ya feel me? That and he's a boy, so that's a good demagogic to have, and it's written in 3rd person omniscient, and Ibadeken has not as much pov time as Myra, but he has way more than any other character besides her. Plus, anyone who has read part of my story or all of it loves Ibadeken; boys, girls, everyone.
So here is my predicament; I have to write the back cover blurb, which is already really hard. Every time I write it including Ibadeken and his conflict in the blurb, it's too long, over 300 words (which I would love it to be that long and people read it, but I just don't have faith that they will, but maybe I'm wrong, IDK). But I also feel like I'm short changing the blurb if I don't have him in there at all. And I don't want to just say, 'oh and there's this guy, his name's Ibadeken, he's cool, you'll like him' which is what I'm getting close to doing at this point. Is it okay to leave him out, or a mistake? Is it okay for a blurb to be a little over 300 words? Do I just have to pick my poison, or is there a happy alternative that satisfies both my needs?
WHAT do I do, please help me tumblr.
