Ive been thinking about this a lot. But yeah maybe Jaskier doesn’t have super powers like everyone else. He isn’t a witcher, or a mage, or the chosen one like Geralt, Ciri and Yen, and every other character in the entire series. But yall haven’t noticed that Jaskier has the most important power of them all.
Jaskier is the song bearer, he keeps the thread of destiny attached. He is just as much fated as the rest, just less obviously, he didn’t need to be forced, he would do what is right regardless of destinies role - that cant be said for all the other characters. He does what’s right, follows the leading hand of destiny because someone has to - he doesn’t even know he is. He just does what feels right.
Jaskier is the vessel of destiny, is destiny. He records its work, communicates it. He has such a strong subconscious connection to it. He’s the reason for pretty much everything. He’s impulsive. He’s impulsive because of destiny. He’s a beacon of destiny, and it acts its wills through the humble bard.
He might not have a destiny like everyone else, but that’s only because he is destiny. Look at what he has done. He got Witchers appreciated. Got geralt to fulfil destiny. Got ciri on her journey to where she belongs. He writes the stories, history.
He’s writing his own history as he goes, not a prediction, but pebbles, sights of legends and heroes he’s created, shaped that will last the test of time much longer then the bards own remains ever will.
