I want to write a movie that fucks with lighting. high-key lighting for sombre, trepid, tiring moments. low-key lighting for happy, joyous, safe ones. and it'll be like this for the entire movie except for the last sequence. the mood will change rapidly throughout the final scenes and the lighting will change to match, only it'll be correctly paired up this time, and make it all even more jarring.

what do you mean someone is their own foil? what do you mean they contain multitudes, all sitting at odds with one another? why haven't they burst forth at the seems? how are they holding it all together? it's so intricate. it's so beautiful. it's so interesting.

thinking about cannibalism as devotion. not as grief, or love, or power, or longing, but as devout worshipping. as an all-consuming adulation that it leads to consumption. as a desire for consummation. as a blending of the bodies of the deity and devotee.

doing a little editing because Trance's storyline is being reworked and my GOD I am an overwriter. there are so many unnecessary words and sentences are more convoluted than they need to be to no effect. this book is gonna be a pain to edit rip

thinking about corruption through possession. how in the beginning there are two distinct entities in one body, both fighting for control. but then, bit by bit, the original begins to fade. it begins to get subsumed by the possessor, one flowing into the other until there's only one left, but neither is unchanged. the possession changes both of them; morphs and twists and transforms them until they take up only as much space as one, and not even they can tell where one begins and the other ends.
