I know this would probably sound unreal to many fellow writers, but I've never experienced writer's block. Never ever.
I think I just have a high level of tolerance for bullshit. My bullshit, that is. Sometimes (often) when you're writing something, you don't have it all figured out at once. Your piece evolves and grows as you write it and check it and double check it and edit it, so it's normal it doesn't come out perfect, or even just decent, the first time. Sometimes the first time it comes out it's just crap. I suspect many writers realize it and go "oh no, this is crap " and they feel bad about it and stop. Me? I go "oh yeah, this is crap " and I just keep on writing so at least I can get out of it as fast as I can for the moment, and come back to make it less crap later.
Love your crap, I guess?
I see a lot of authors talking about writer's block, or the problem of abandoned WIPs (work in progress). I get it, but I have to say, it has never happened to me. Never once in my life.
Rather, I feel like I am in a hostage situation with my WIP. And I am the hostage. I have to write it. It's a question of life and death. Whatever I do, wherever I go, my WIP follows me. Haunts me. Bears down on me. I can't escape until I've finished it.
Not complaining, I mean, it's great for getting things done and it's also great for my anxiety, which flourishes! It's great all round!
Numero di pagine (quasi) definitivo: 597. Ho usato un carattere piccino picciò XD
(Almost) definitive page count: 597. I've used a teeny tiny font XD
An adult? You must have meant a writer. Especially a bad one. Wallowing in self-pity constitutes a great part of my work.
I've written!! Finally, I've done it! I didn't write a word in a month, now I have eventually found the courage to try again. Oh, god, I'm so happy.
You know you're doomed when you have to google "conversations" because you just can't think of anything your fictional characters could talk about.
This is fun, I like writing...but ever since my friends told me I suck, I'm shy of showing people my work! ;A;!
