summary: There are rules in football—on the pitch, off the pitch, and especially around the team physio’s daughter. Taehyung’s only got one left to break. You weren’t supposed to grow up around football. But you did—back when your dad worked for Barça, back when #8 still waved at you from the locker room tunnel. You’ve changed cities, changed colors, and still, you know better than to fall for a player. Especially one like Taehyung. Madrid’s #2. Arrogant, egotistical, and so casually confident it makes your teeth clench. He likes games, slow smiles, and pushing people just to see how far they’ll go. You don’t flirt back. You don’t make it easy. And he has no idea what to do with that. You’re not a fangirl. You’re not impressed. And you sure as hell aren’t scared of him. The only thing Taehyung hates more than losing… is coming second to a Barça boy. And he’s never been one to stay in line.
HOW THE LINEVERSE WORKS
The Lineverse is a shared AU world told through two separate—but intertwined—stories. Each fic follows a different main couple, with its own emotional tone, structure, and voice. You can read either one on its own. But they unfold in parallel, and they’re designed to mirror, echo, and complicate each other in all the best ways.
In Between the Lines (by @writesvani), Jungkook plays for FC Barcelona. He’s sharp, private, and deeply competitive, stuck between friendship and feelings he refuses to name. The girl at the center (BTL!Y/N) is an influencer—and the younger sister of his best friend.
In Out of Line (by @jungkoode), Taehyung is Real Madrid’s #2—confident, confrontational, and used to getting his way. The girl he can’t stop circling (OFL!Y/N) is the daughter of the club’s new sports therapist, raised around Barça and unimpressed with his charm.
Each Y/N is a different person. Each story stands on its own. But the world they live in—Spain’s elite football scene—is the same.
To keep the universe readable and immersive across both fics, we’ve introduced nicknames and aliases that allow characters to refer to each other without breaking the second-person POV or duplicating “Y/N.”
OFL!Y/N is referred to in Between the Lines as Mini Doc, thanks to her father’s job and her constant presence around the club.
BTL!Y/N is referred to in Out of Line as Barbar/Barbie, a play on her social handle @BarsaBarbie.
This nickname system allows each fic to reference the other naturally, without compromising second-person POV or reader immersion. It also means you’ll catch crossovers—press headlines, sideline mentions, private tension—in both stories if you’re reading closely.
The fics update independently. The characters live in their own lanes. But for major events—games, galas, public appearances—you may catch them sharing space. These moments are planned together to serve both narratives.
This isn’t a crossover. It’s not a split POV. This is one world, told in two stories. And neither of them is playing fair.
Reading both isn’t required—but it hits harder when you do.
