Many worldbuilding stories follow military characters, or characters that eventually become intertwined in military action. This makes sense as most worlds, no matter how mystical, are likely to build up some form of a military.
Here are some worldbuilding questions to get the creative juices flowing: Military
-If a world is magical, how is it incorporated into the military?
-How are military ranks differentiated on the field? Is it extreme or subtle? What do opposing military’s do with these differences?
-During battle how do militaries receive their ration and supplies? How is food prepared on the battlefield?
-What are the common weapons provided in the military?
-Who manufactures the arms? How does the military afford or supply themselves with arms?
-Who is allowed into the military? Is there outcry based on who is allowed or not?
-What is the conscription? Drafted, Age Based Required Conscription, Volunteer
-Is the military known for their prowess, or do they have a history of being clowned on? Is the military historically built or brand new?
-What is the military bad at handling? What are they good at?
-How does the military travel from place to place?
-How do the locals and the military’s home locals view the military
