If a writer writes something that he or she has never experienced, I think the reader can sense right away that it is garbage. The only thing that can replace experience, though, is imagination; however it takes experience to grow an imagination.

In the middle of watching this video and wanted to share. While the video is focused on a specific novel, the issues and advice given is general with lots of examples from popular media. It also has a focus on prose and narrative, one of the more difficult parts of writing both in execution and finding assistance with.
as someone who is simultaneously on the autism spectrum and writes fanfics for herself - does anyone else just kinda have trouble thinking of "is this a normal thing for people to talk about/begin talking about in this situation", and how to just, like... resolve scenes and shit?
just curious. could need tips.
I’m writing a book with a demiromantic character and i know you’re not demiromantic so you’re probably not the best person to ask but i don’t know of anyone better so here’s my question: is it realistic for someone who’s demiromantic to not notice until they get close to someone and then start to fall for them romantically? Maybe it’s a stupid question but i want to make sure i have the right concept
I’m a little unsure of your wording, but here are two interpretations.
My understanding is that a demiromantic would “notice” someone before being romantically attracted to them, in the sense that they would already have a strong, noticeable emotional bond before they started experiencing attraction.
But if you mean “not notice” as they only realize that they’re demiromantic once they have that emotional bond and later experience romantic attraction for the first time, that sounds plausible to me (but I can’t speak from experience).
@demi-romantics, do you want to weigh in on this?
Hi! I’m kind of new to the proper writeblr side of tumblr so pls forgive me if this not a good question. I’ve always wanted to write an original novel but for some reason I always fall “out of love” with my ideas. I write fanfic and it’s easy there because it doesn’t matter as much, I can just take the characters and write a new fic another time, but for my OC’s... I’m so focused on finding the perfect plot and perfect setting that I end up hating everything and not writing :( any tips? 💕
Hello! This is a great question, and I’m happy to offer any advice/tips I can.
(Huge post, content under the cut!)
