A Vampire story prompt that needs to happen
I have so many vampire ideas and you guys are going to hate me for this one, absolutely hate me, but hear me out!
What if there was a story about a vampire king/lord/queen that takes for himself/herself a slave/pet/war prize/human, and it's your traditional vampire story with the vampire being a complete poopnugget to this poor soul, ( ya know, doing the normal bad vampire stuff like drinking their blood and scaring them half to death on the daily) and then slowly through the test of time and trials he/she learns to feel something for this small frail human that they bought.
and oh my goodness the human is written as the kindest gentlest soul in the world.
The human is timid and sweet and obedient and you just love them. They enjoy sunshine, large socks, hot drinks, flowers, warm blankets and the tender and fleeting praise from their vampire master, and as you fall in love with them you notice the vampire also begins to love them too, though it is only in that agonizing surface kinda love that a blood sucking monster could only begin to understand.
You start rooting for the brute vampire and his/her kind human and you witness the gentle words, sweet gestures, small adventures, and oh the love that begins to grow between the two.
You melt and your face grows hot at every passing chapter and you get this feeling that perhaps the vampire is getting the courage to tell the human how they feel? Or perhaps he/she is just discovering their true feelings for the human?
Its the climax everything in the book is pointing to in these very special chapters, you can practically feel the tension in every word.
A rotten piller in a favored part of the castle/run away horse/a falling tree/a sudden affliction/a vicious storm that struck suddenly/a flood/drowning
An unforseen thing that could happen to anyone and the human is gone in the blink of one page.
Dead without a reason or explanation leaving the readers as stunned as the vampire.
That is when the second book. The real story begins and its 200 years into the future and the vampire hates love and still bitterly grieves the human they loved and lost without receiving their happily ever after.
That is the beginning and it's about a vampire finding love again as a new human comes into his/her castle/takes a new human as theirs.
And basically it's terrible because they will find love again and it's going to be so hard.
Because we all (yes the readers included) loved HER/HIM first.
We were there at the beginning and it was wonderful and this romance wont be like the first one because no one can replace THAT human.
And and, I just enjoy the idea of romance being difficult and us not rooting for it at first because we wanted them to be happy and knowing in our hearts that it doesn't always happen like that AND IT COULD HAVE.
I know sad and sadistic but I get so sleepy from all the same old same old vampire stories.
Give me love cherished, mended, grown, and then gone.
If you're going to give me immortality give me the curse that comes with it.
