This is so sweet it’s going to make me cry! I can’t even put into words how uplifting this little message is. Sometimes I feel like my writing is boring and repetitive and that people are tired of seeing it... so just to get a message like this calling my writing beautiful. I just. No words. You sent this to me while I was struggling with getting through the last few weeks of the semester, but now I’m happy to report that the hardest part is over! All my assignments are turned in, and I’m expecting excellent final grades if I do say so myself. At the very least, I think I did well enough in the year to not have to worry about anything even if I did somehow bomb my last assignments.

I’m now finishing up my internship, but my supervisor offered me a stipend to stay on for a little while longer to help make ends meet until the next batch of interns can come in so that’s my primary dilemma right now. My friend and I are discussing the possibility. While it’s a few more weeks of meeting with clients that I was not expecting to do, it’s also kind of nice knowing that the agency director values me enough to ask me to stay longer.

A pearl of blood fell from Violet’s cheek as she lifted her gaze to me, the red staining the gold trim of her uniform, splattering across the navy. Hatred darkened her stare, absolute, churning like storm clouds behind the hazel. But her voice was just as dead as the stars.

On its own, this excerpt may seem like nothing particularly special! But it’s one of my favourites because of how it relates to important story symbols, as well as repeating a theme from earlier that part!
