I have a challenge for you! Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag ten friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them.
ooh um okay no pressure right just off the top of my head here are books
the newsflesh trilogy (feed, deadline, blackout) because those are some deeply upsetting zombie novels. very, very good, I highly recommend them, but wow emotions
tamar because I haven’t finished it yet but I have a feeling I know how it’s going to end and it’s going to upset me
watership down because fuck you I care a lot about those rabbits
squire because holy hell tamora pierce’s novels were a large part of my formative years you don’t understand. especially kel, kel was so important. I read them out of order so squire was my first.
dairy queen because it’s about a girl playing football and it’s light and very sweet and not at all upsetting like everything else in the list really perfect summer reading
water for elephants because circuses also I have this thing where where I read a book was important and I bought and read water for elephants in the philippines
the book thief. When I finished it I sat down and thought “damn”. Also I cried.
crying of lot 49 we read it in my absolute favorite class ever in high school
i’m not tagging people because that is TOO MUCH PRESSURE I’M SORRY
