I have an issue with um following directions? Why do I need baking powder AND baking soda? Why do I need vanilla?

baking soda needs to be added to an acidic mix in order to work, so baking powder can help balance it out

vanilla is sort of the “secret stuff” of baking. we take it for granted but if you eat enough cookies you’ll be able to tell when one doesn’t have vanilla, and it’s worse off for it every time

I used to have one named Stella, she was house trained and everything, but we had to kick her outside to the chicken coop/runner duck pen because she started eating the leather furniture lol but super smart it took her 30 seconds to learn how to sit on command and then she followed me around the kitchen randomly sitting so I’d give her a treat
