What everyone gets wrong about Frankenstein's Creature
As much as I LOVE the latest version of Frankenstein on Netflix, as a huge fan of the story and as someone who has read it multiple times, it baffles to what extent people always consistently miss the fact that the monster is not actually ugly. In fact... he is handsome!
As weird as it sounds, he is officially handsome because Frankenstein chose the very best body parts to make him from his teeth, his eyes, his face to his wavy thick black hair. The problem is that he looks very unusual like a ragdoll and that can be very freaky to look at.
As weird as it sounds, he should look more like Dr. Blackjack from the titular anime. Unusual looking and very obviously not normal, but also handsome. I'm very surprised that with all the adaptation out there, people always miss this fact.
Yes, I imagine that him being a hobo who is unwashed with hair that is burnt and that was never kept also doesn't help, but even a beautiful person will look bad when dirty and dressed in rags. However, if he was to clean up, he would actually clean up nice.
In other words... THIS is inaccurate.
And he should be more like this except imagine more stitching and more multishaded skin with each eye a different colour.
I mean, that is one of the many groundbreaking traits about the monster. Yes, it was clear that he was a monster, but he was not stupid, without feelings and above all else, not actually ugly. I mean, people remember this about Dracula all the time, but when it comes to Frankenstein's monster, either no one remember or he gets mistaken for ugly.
