Right person - wrong time
Meeting your person at the wrong moment.
I don’t think I can find a word that’s powerful enough to describe this feeling. If you’ve ever felt it, then you know what I’m talking about. If not, I’ll try to explain it as much as I can.
This feeling is the combination of excitement and disappointment. Excitement because you know you have the right one by your side, and the disappointment, because this isn’t the right time for you guys.
It could be for a lot of reasons: work, distance, family, highschool or college, etc. It’s life getting in the way of your love.
As hard as it is, you have no other choice than to accept it. If they really are the best person for you, you’ll reunite. If not, it’s alright. It means better things are on the way.
Now, the most painful part is letting them go and live their life. It means meeting new people, going to parties, giving them space to grow. Some people actually need to go through a bunch of bad decisions before settling down. You may be the perfect person for them but they first need to experience life and it has nothing to do with you. We’re all different, we all have different needs.
My point is, don’t overthink it too much. Trust me, I know the feeling, but what can you do, other than keep moving on with your life and wait? The universe works in strange, incomprehensible ways but does give you what you truly deserve.
Trust the process and live. Go to parties, stay home, meet new people, reconnect with old friends, kiss a stranger or someone you know: do whatever you want. At the end of the day, if you really love your person, they won’t leave your mind even for a second; if they really love you too, they’ll find their way back.
If you’re going through this, I suggest you listen to one of my favourite songs: Phases by Prettymuch. You’ll relate.
Love,
Dina.
Can we take a moment of silence for my poor gay boi in the wrong time. Lord John Grey deserves the entire world for everything he’s done. I love him sooooooo much.
Wrong Time
I keep the clock in my living room set to the wrong time. And not just slightly wrong—though maybe that’s what’s more devilish, to be NEARLY accurate—but extremely wrong. At this moment I think it says it’s something like 5:30, which is either five hours behind or seven ahead of what’s true as I write this.
People look at the clock and do the expected double-take: That’s not the time, is it?? Not that they believe it but they can’t help but ask. No, I reassure them, and supply the correct time. The clock has made me a gatekeeper, an arbiter of distress or relief.
Just now...some one joked about a story i told her before...against me...#wrongtime #insensitive #keepittomyself next time https://www.instagram.com/p/BoO0B_THL-s/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=fuqwl4xejxus
