Team Round 3

The final team Round was up and down. We started off with the lowest point sudokus for confidence... it took some time but we solved all of them. Then we went to the hardest ones which were skyscrapers... only 2 of us attempted them and I managed to solve 1 of them. If we were correct in the ones we submitted, we’ll score 325 out of 1600 points.

Next up is the playoffs and it’s beer o’clock here!

Team Round 2

It started out a disaster... 20 minutes with nothing to show so we moved on to the next samurai and after making a guess in the middle, it worked out and then the rest was solved with the finishing touch put on with only seconds remaining. If those 5 parts are correct, we got 375 out of 1625 points.

Also, the top solvers were marked and I ended up in 16th place!

Round 10

The final individual round is the longest of the day. It took me awhile to do the harder point sudokus and halfway through I realized I would likely be better off doing the easier ones and getting guaranteed points... so I switched strategies midway and if all is correct I should get 530 out of 810 points. I don’t think it’s good enough to move into the top 10, but I’ll know after lunch since priority of marking is given to those in the top 20 as the playoffs are this afternoon. In total, there were just over 240 competitors in these World Championships. The team rounds are after lunch.
