Double Signing For SAFC Ladies | 14.02.2017
Midfielder Dominique Bruinenberg and Goalkeeper Anke Preuss join the Lady Black Cats
Sunderland Ladies have signed Anke Preuss from FFC Frankfurt and Dominique Bruinenberg from ASGM Verona.
Goalkeeper Anke Preuss brings UEFA Women’s Champions League experience having won the competition in 2015 with FFC Frankfurt. She has represented the German national team to Under 20 level, including a silver medal at the U20 World Cup in Japan in 2012.
Dominique Bruinenberg is a technical and tactical midfielder who signs from ASGM Verona in Serie A. She has played for the Netherlands up to U19 level and also has Champions League experience.
Durham Sign Rachael Laws | 14.02.2017
The former Sunderland stopper joins the Wildcats as Helen Alderson prepares to undertake charity work in Africa for a three-month period.
It's all about goalkeepers in the North East, this week! Durham WFC say that Laws, 26, moves to New Ferens Park having made 18 appearances for the Lady Black Cats in FA WSL 1 last season.
The goalkeeper has spent her entire career at Sunderland, bar a loan spell at Liverpool Ladies which saw her pick up an FA WSL winners medal in 2013.
Her fine form in recent years has seen her gain England honours, with the stopper included in several training camps and a tour to China.
She now joins the Wildcats for the FA WSL Spring Series as they look to build on a 1-0 win over Millwall Lionesses in their opening game. She is a fine replacement for Helen Alderson (herself an ex Sunderland stopper), who will be travelling to Ghana to work on a placement with a charity for three months.
Bristol City Women Sign Turner From Everton | 13.01.2017
Millie Turner pens new deal with City Women ahead of Spring Series.
Former Everton midfielder, Turner joins up with newly promoted Bristol City Women this week.
The junior international is formerly part of Manchester United's Centre of Excellence, and joined Everton midway through 2013.
Playing with the Development Squad, she signed her first senior contract with the Blues ahead of the 2014 season.
With experience in WSL1 and 2, Turner is looking forward to getting started with the Vixens: "I am very excited to be here, Willie has shown me around the training ground and all the facilities are amazing.
"I think this was the perfect move for me, I needed a fresh start and this will be the perfect place for me to develop," added the 20-year-old.
Turner joins up with fellow teammates Eloise Wilson, Jodie Brett and Millie Farrow at St George's Park for an England U20s camp starting Monday, January 16th.
