fuffy really has everything. they're the chosen two. shadow selves. narrative foils. strangers to friends to enemies to exes/reluctant allies (to the lovers they become in my head post-chosen). she tries to fuck all her boyfriends. she's jealous of her. she wants to be her. she wants to have her. she chains her to a wall. she pins her against that same wall. they exchange forehead kisses. they have homoerotic fight scenes. she handcuffs them together in the middle of one. they share dreams ("is this your mind or mine?"). they've swapped bodies. they're the only ones who could ever understand each other. they hated each other, but they never stopped loving each other. She even stabs her

yeah i don't think we talk enough about how sexual buffy and faith's graduation day fight was. especially when compared to her fights with angel/angelus and spike

Oh absolutely. The whole fight itself is framed as a "kiss" by Faith right as it starts - which itself is an intentional parallel to Buffy's fight with Angelus, where she gives him a kiss, and then kills him. It's framed as sexual again in This Years Girl when she refers back to it ("Let's have another go at it. See who ends up on top"). And of course it's been a central part of their relationship the whole season, with the whole "hungry and horny" runner.

Vampires have the association between violence, sex, and food kind of baked into their concept, at least in a post-Dracula world. This is no different in Buffy - especially with Spike, whose character kind of lives by that association, but with all the vampire characters really. And Slayers are no different. That's the point of the hungry/horny thing, of everything in Buffy vs Dracula, of Spike in seasons 5 and 6 particularly. They have that same innate conflation of sex, love, violence, and hunger that vampires have. And so when Buffy fights a vampire or slayer that she has a significant relationship with, then that association will usually be an undercurrent to the fight.

Also, while we're riffing on it, I'd like to add that, factually speaking, Buffy fails to get what she needs in this scene, and so has to give her own blood to Angel - in what is one of the most obviously erotic scenes in the series. She fails to "complete" the mission herself (although Faith goes over the edge), and so "completes" it with Angel.
