8. Which character(s) do you find easiest to write?
Since as of the last almost 3 years Ironstrange is all I write I’m going by those two idiots - and have to confess that both are pretty equal in that regard. I sit down and begin to type a new story without thinking about that beforehand; I switch POV as necessary/wanted and that’s it. Tony mostly is a little bit snarkier bit shorter with his sentences while Stephen gets a little bit old-fashioned and flowery sometimes. Because that’s what I took away from canon. 😇
Everyone else? Uff. Can’t get into their headspace at all, which explains why it’s 99% Stephen or Tony POV.
9. Which character(s) do you find most difficult to write?
Loki. Steve Rogers. Loki appeared two times (the second time was easier but still hard) and the one story Steve played a major role in took me almost 7 months to write. I still love that one (Fires that Burn on the Horizon, in case anyone is interested /shameless self-promo) but wow I was sooooo close to giving up on that one multiple times.
16. Any guilty pleasure trope(s)?
I just answered that one! Short answer: Oh yes, I have those. Quite a few, actually. 😊
33. Is there anything you wish your audience knew about your writing or writing process?
Every “serious” writer is going to run away and cry now. Just a warning.
I don’t do drafts. What you see on AO3 is pretty much as it went down on the page on the first try. There are minor edits during writing when I re-read my work before continuing (a sentence more here, a slightly different word there, a tiny bit of foreshadowing) but that’s it. Before posting I will re-read once more to try to catch errors or get rid of some things that sound off or word I’ve used only two sentences before but not much more. Of course I get rid of typos as I catch them but I know that despite that there are still some left when I post. I’ve given up on editing those after posting. It is what it is.
I also don’t do outlines. I have to write to discover what happens. I’ve tried outlines and then the idea stayed an outline because I have lost any interest in writing it down. I already know what happens so why bother investing the time? I also don’t think about WIPs and how it will continue and end. Because then I’ll just stop and never come back.
So if anyone wonders why I only write short stories - this is why. My “process” (if you can call it that) is not sustainable for something long and plotty. 😂
