For Hannibal, a psychopath with a tendency to be impulsive, being deliberate about eating Will would be his act of love. Being careful about when, where, how, and why. To still allow himself to share his cannibalistic ritual with someone he loves, to maybe even provide pieces of himself. He's a narcissist, and to allow Will to consume even a small piece of him would symbolise them to be equals.

That's what love is. To make compromises in order to stay together, to share activities you take pleasure in, to see each other as coequals, as partners. To say, 'we are one, share this with me, take a part of me the way I've taken a part of you, stay with me for as long as possible'.

You know what makes me absolutely livid? NBC barely advertised for Rise. I scrolled back in their Instagram and saw ads for, like, every show, but the only Rise ad I saw was one where you had to swipe to get to it! NBC basically set Rise up for failure and is suprised as to why we’re made.
