So things are going pretty interestingly through my experience here at Bristol University...BUT my job is also to tell you guys my experience and to be truthfully honest with you.
My Accommodation that was chosen was the Tamarillo House, it was one of the listings of housing but once my group and I arrived to our building for our dorms things were not as what we had expected. Construction workers everywhere, the awful stench of paint and chemicals, random dangerous equipment here and there, and also trash was just sitting in my room once I got in. I personally have the most awful case of asthma that anyone could ever have, and I have been hospitalized before due to strong odors and chemicals around me. And do not even get me started on what's outside my window; rusted pipes and more construction work just outside of my window. Who would want to open a window that has construction work right next to it?
So what's the point?
Make sure that you really know what host institution's accommodations would be fit for you. Because, those that have chosen Tamarillo had no idea that it was an upcoming building. That the construction workers were still working on it PAST the contract set date. I already had talked to the construction worker's manager, and since the time was passed to reach the accommodation office, I have to sit tight in a room that has no filtration.
Bobcats, really really really know where your money is going and do not be treated like the way I, and a couple of other University of California students have experienced. KNOW YOUR GROUND AND STAND YOUR GROUND OKAY?!
