here we are again | taylor & jake
Of course, Disney World was living up to every possible expectation that it was held to and Jake couldn't have been happier about it. He'd woken up early, prepared to stand in line after line as was per usual with any sort of theme park, and hoped to fit in as much Disney fun as possible in one day without it feeling like a chore. Jake already knew that he'd be having to cut his trip down to Florida with the Hideaway group a little short, on the account of work calling him back to New York, but he'd pushed all those thoughts aside when he'd made plans to meet up at the park with Taylor. Even with all of their amiable talks since they both moved into the condos, Jake hadn't known what to expect from spending the day with her. It'd been… well, it'd been years since they'd done more than run into each other at an event and chat for a few seconds. They were going from zero to a hundred in one quick leap, but if the past few weeks of joking conversations said anything, there was nothing to worry about.
And even now, an hour or two into their day at Disney, Jake was still confident about that.
"I bet that the wait time has doubled since we got into line." He smiled as he spoke, shaking his head and looking down the winding queue. If there was one ride that Jake didn't want to miss while at Disney World, it was the classic Pirates of the Caribbean. So, when they'd finally made their way to Adventureland, he may or may not have directed their aimless wandering towards the specific line, the sign by the entrance displaying an average twenty-five minute wait time. It wasn't bad, but thinking about it now, Jake knew they probably should have opted for the Fast Pass thing on every ride they'd already stood in line waiting for.
As they shuffled forward a little more line, hitting a patch of shade, Jake pulled his sunglasses off to hook them over the collar of his t-shirt. For a moment he was left squinting at the natural light before he looked at Taylor again. "When was the last time you were at a Disney park?" He asked, half curious and half trying to keep up the smalltalk, because that was what their day had been filled with so far. Between rides or shows and random water breaks, there'd been a lot of chitchat to fill a threatening silence, but Jake couldn't say that he minded it. Not really, when he was the one to bring up more of the less personal topics. It was easy - light and fun, which was what he'd been hoping for the day.
