"Hey, happy birthday, Saihara!" Kaede bounces on her heels. She holds out a box to to him; it's contents aren't much. It contains a couple fountain pens, a USB with her music on it -- if he'd like to listen -- and .. a REALLY high quality leather journal for taking notes or to .. yknow, just write in for funsies. She offers a soft, sheepish smile, and tilts her head to the side, arms folded behind her. "I'm not really sure if you'll get much use out of them.. but, I still hope you like them!"

“Thank you, Akamatsu-san! Ooh, what’s this..?” A curious smile, Shuichi opes the gift box once he accepts it. “!” The smile on his face widens when he sees the different gifts inside.

“Ohh!” He picks up the journal. “This journal looks and feels so nice...!” He gives a small laugh, shaking his head as he gives her a reassuring smile. “Don’t be silly, of course I’ll get great use out of them! I love this journal, and I’m always happy to have more pens. And this USB must have your music on here, I assume? Whenever I write notes or anything in here, I’ll definitely do so while listening to your music, heheh... it’ll be nice. So thank you very much, Akamatsu-san... I love these gifts.”

Shyly, he goes over to give her a hug. He was going to make sure to take great care of all these.

Musical!Padlock AU

-Lives on top of the Deetz-Maitland’s residence

-Employed by Beetlejuice to convince Lydia to say his name

-Pretty much on Lydia and the Maitland’s side of things and runs into the netherworld after Lydia and Charles and leads them back to the living world

-Has a solo song called “The Nature Of Things” which starts out about his job as a Gargoyle but evolves into a song about the nature of the netherworld, the Deetz’s, the Maitland’s, and Beetlejuice himself. It’s sung to Beetlejuice (of course, Beej has his own lines in the song) and involves a lot of flips, stunts and tricks while on the edge of the roof.

- on several occasions he pleads with Lydia and Beetlejuice separately to reconsider their actions. With Lydia, about how Beetlejuice is dangerous but lonely, and just wants a friend and with Beetlejuice about how he shouldn’t hurt people that could be his friends.

-He’s invited into the family just like the Maitland’s in the end and helps clean up the house

It had been raining really hard today. With no errands he needed to do, Shuichi was going to just stay inside his room and read: something he enjoyed doing even more in the rain.

Just as he was thinking what tea he should make… “!” He gets a text notification from his phone, putting his book down for a second to grab his phone off the table. Seeing it was from Kokichi, the smile on his face grew… but then when reading the actual message, concern quickly replaced it. “Ah….” Quickly, he texts back:

{ TXT: Koki } Ah, really? I hope you’re okay… of course I’ll come over. Can’t have my boyfriend staying hurt and sad, now can I? Ahaha…

{ TXT: Koki } But yes, I’ll get ready and be right over, sweetheart. ♡

With that, Shuichi got dressed and threw on his coat, grabs his bag and umbrella, and then heads out. He had packed some teabags, and since a bakery was along the way: he decided to pop in real fast and buy some chocolate desserts, one of them being raspberry chocolate cups, since he knew those were one of Kokichi’s favorites. He continues on the way until he reaches Kokichi’s place, giving several soft knocks to his doors. “Kokichi, it’s me!”
