COLE BASS is a 42 year old SECURITY GUARD and he looks a lot like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
It was just Cole and his dad growing up. Cole’s mom had passed away during childbirth and left his father with broken promises, a broken heart and a son he now had to care for by himself - not that he minded but it just made his life all the more complicated. Having been a valued member of the army and enduring the torturous events in Vietnam, the PTSD that followed was unimaginable. Every time Cole cried, his father would have to push through his personal pain to help his son. As soon as Cole got old enough to notice the weight dragging his father down, he became much quieter. Cole had always wanted to join the army but his dad would have never allowed it - not after what he had experienced himself. Mr Bass had experienced his own share of loss; the loss of his friends, the loss of his wife and the loss of his life. After many years of debates and a few fights it was decided that Cole could join the local police force; it was something that almost suited the line of work he wanted to go into, without the threats of dying on the battlefield. He was still going to be protecting people.
WE HOPE THEY ARE PLAYING A GAME
After grade school, Cole went straight into police academy and graduated top of his class - but that had always been expected of him. His father was brought in as the keynote speaker for his graduation and through choked up words, he had a tear in his eye as he had the honours of stating just how hard his son at worked - finally giving him something to be proud of. Cole got signed onto the local force when he was 23 and his career took off from there as the officer that everyone loved. Working mostly with drug and gang related crimes, some of the boys that he found on the streets soon found Cole to be somebody relatable - he hadn’t been raised in the most stable of homes and so when the police officer spared them jail time (after a long lecture in the squad car), they would quite often be on their way, having taken their warning into account. There were perks to his job - he had almost become the neighborhood hero... Although not everybody saw him as a saint.
BUT THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING
Just like every crime, there were reoccuring faces... A lot of the same people showing up again and again, despite the warnings that they had been given. Cole was a firm believer in second chances but once he was given a reason to put somebody behind bars, he sure as hell went for it - wanting to be the best he could be. It wasn’t long before he started nailing down on one group in particular, teenagers who were far too busy partying and skipping school to have even noticed that there was a police officer sneaking up behind them in one of the city alleyways, ready to bust a deal on people who had been under their raydar for a long time. Within moments, the operation had gone terribly wrong - Cole hadn’t called for back up in the way that he should have. As soon as one of the youths pulled a gun on him, Cole too hellbent on catching the kid who was had ran off with the money, he fell to his knees - blood pouring from his chest. He was the neighborhood saviour, why would he have ever thought to wear his bullet vest? Luckily, the bullet had not caused any damage to his organs but it had gone directly into his shoulder - chipping his blade and leaving him with a long lasting injury. Unfortunately, Cole’s time in police would now come to an end, unable to keep up with the high and heavy pursuit of things. Becoming a security guard had always been a last resort job and one that Cole could never imagine himself doing, but now - it was the best that he had. Applying for Brielle Institute had calmed his fathers nerves about the danger of things, although nobody had anticipated just how dangerous coming into a hospital with some highly aggressive patients could be.
Fortunately, Cole is OPEN!
