Wax candles can be messy and inconvenient, today I’m going to teach you how to make oil candles like this one! It’s super easy!
There are a couple things you’ll need:
A jar
100% cotton wick cord (here is the kind I used)
Oil (I like to use olive oil and canola oil because they’re odorless and smoke free, but you can use any oil that’s safe to burn.)
A nail and a hammer, or a screw and a drill
Begin by making a small hole that’s sizable enough to fit your cord. If you oversize it, super a piece of cork over the hole and use a needle to push the your wick through.
Now fill your jar about 1/3 of the way full with oil. Soak the wick completely.
Pull your wick through the hole.
Trim your wick so it’s a normal length.
Now you can fix your candle however you like and use it in your spells! Please make sure that whatever herbs and powders are being used can be burned. Also keep in mind that whatever essential oils you use will be diffused into it’s environment, so be cautious with how much you use. Depending on what color your oil is, you may be able to add pigment as well.
