Evening fell over a cozy, little house sitting alone in the snowy countryside. It wouldn't always be that way. In time, the house would be added to, and more of Adara's lost relatives and Carnivalle family would come to add their own homes to an eventual, peacefull neighborhood.

Though for now, for this first Christmas, it was just a small group.

"Okay, girls, I'm gonna turn on the lights. You ready?"

"Yaaaaaay!" A duo of unusual little children, who couldn't be much more than three years old, jumped in bubbly excitement. They were an odd pair: one long and lanky, four-armed and snouted, the other a little scratchy beaky thing.

A gentle, festive display of lights on a tree appeared in the living room window.

This Christmas, it would be just the three of them, and one more once their Uncle showed up.
