I feel you. I only started watching this show a little more than one year ago,but I loved it SO MUCH. Then I watched season 6 and it's like I can ever muster up the will to care. That's so sad.
Yeah... I became obsessed in 2013 and really loved it. Well, I loved the first 4 seasons. I still loved season 5 enough, but then the plot holes grew, the retconning started and the Doctor aged too fast without any reason. It don’t know if that sounds silly, but his age still bothers me. Eleven was 907 or something when season 5 started and now Twelve is supposed to be over 2000 years old?? I’m sorry, what? I feel like Moffat’s ego got in the way of his writing again. I just can’t accept that. It makes the other regenerations look so insignificant. Just like I can’t accept the retconning, and well, the plot holes are just ridiculous. Apparently you have to be “smart enough to fill in the blanks yourself” according to Moffat. What? So now I’m not smart enough for your shitty writing? Excuse me? Anyway. It’s so sad, honestly. I think for me the show hit rock bottom with the Christmas Special 2013. That was the worst episode ever, without any doubt.

Saaaame. Even though I really liked Capaldi's Doctor, they screwed up with all the "Clara Oswald & her sidekick" stuff. Maybe I'll watch the new season when all the episodes are out, who knows.
You’re right, although I honestly feel like they screwed up the writing in general. I really liked the parts of the Doctor Capaldi brought in. (Like his faces, his penguin run and dorky behavior.) But I hated how he was written. I hated the shitty comments he made about Clara’s appearance and how he suddenly seemed to have forgotten everything he’d ever known about the human race. He could be such a great Doctor if he was written differently. And I really miss loving this show... I hope I will again, one day. (When Moffat’s finally gone?) Right now I’m jealous of everyone who can still enjoy it. ^^
So now the big question is: Do I want to watch the new episode or do I not want to watch the new episode? (I heard that Ten’s voice is in it, that made me a teeny tiny bit more excited tbh :D)
