Headcanon for high school, normal world au Wyndolls pretty please?

I have like a million ideas for this bc I love them so here’s one version lol :P 

Wynonna’s lived in Purgatory all her life and is a social outcast thanks to accidentally shooting her drunk dad dead in an effort to save her younger sister Waverly from his abuse. Xavier “Call me Dolls” is a transfer student who is a social outcast bc he’s a black American man now living in what appears to be a pretty conservative small town. They meet freshman year, and do not get along right away because Dolls’ straight A, sports star vibe cramps her straight-to-detention, rebel child style. Despite the mutual skepticism, they quickly become best friends after Dolls stands up for her to a group of hockey jerks and she punches the ringleader on Dolls’ behalf in response to a racist comment. 

Throughout the years, they grow closer. Wynonna opens up to him about how her older sister Willa’s kidnapping has affected her, and Dolls confides in her about the pressures of growing up an orphan adopted into a rigid military family. Wynonna swallows her pride over being “too cool for school” and cheers him on at sports games, and he supports her through several ill-fated hookups/situationships with guys that, if you ask him, are not nearly good enough for her....not that he likes her or anything.

The two of them never make it to junior prom. Instead, they spend the evening watching the stars at the Homestead and joking about which teacher chaperone has been forced to lead the funky chicken. There’s a moment where she leans in and he brushes her hair behind her ear and they almost kiss, but then Gus is calling Wynonna’s name and Dolls has curfew and the moment disappears. 

By senior year, they’ve acquired a few more members of their ragtag team. Wynonna’s younger sister Waverly follows them around as much as possible, claiming it’s because she needs Dolls to tutor her in calculus. After a school-wide sexting scandal destroys her popularity, rich-girl-gone-bad Mercedes latches onto Wynonna. Dolls brings a fellow military brat and sports star named Nicole into the fray (Wynonna is only jealous for like, half a second until she finds out the girl is gay) and eventually Wynonna’s chemistry lab partner Jeremy Chetri joins as well. What Wynonna and Dolls don’t know is that every member of their weird gang is positive that they are meant for one another and are constantly meddling to make it so. 

A few weeks out of graduation, they have a massive fight over Wynonna deciding to run off to Europe to get away from it all. Dolls was under the impression it was just going to be a gap year, but Wynonna admits she’s not sure she’ll ever come back to Purgatory. Hurt, Dolls reveals he got into an American university, but was planning to reject it because he didn’t want to leave her behind. Guilty, Wynonna tells him he should go because there isn't anything between them. They go their separate ways after graduation, and are separated for the next five years (though obviously still pining). That is, until Waverly secretly invites Dolls to her and Nicole’s wedding where Wynonna is the maid of honor...

5, 18, 22 for Wynonna and Dolls

5. Nicknames? Pet names? Any in-jokes?

For nicknames…does “Earp” count? 

I like to think they call each other “love” and “baby” in private, and Dolls will affectionately refer to Wynonna as “Mama” when talking to Alice (ex. “Mama’s going to be home soon, Ally Bear.”) 

SO MANY IN JOKES. Dolls waltzing with the lady vampire (ex. “Watch out for Kate, vibes like hers get your blood pumping”), Wynonna’s glee at his firebreathing = jokes about barbecues and things “heating up” on a case, sarcastic mourning for Nicole’s stetson, that time that they had sex against the Purgatory town sign = “we stretched more than just the city limits, didn’t we?” 

18. What are their dates like? How long do/did they date? Do they ever feel the need to take a break from each other?

Dates are awkward bc they don’t really know how to leave their work behind; it’s not just a regular office job. Classic dates are late night take-out, drinking at the bar, long walks around town, or just sitting in the car at night in a wide open field so they can see the stars and have quiet talks. 

They date until death. I don’t wanna talk about that further. 

They might need breaks when things get really hard but they never stop having each others’ backs, and even when things are painful and bitter and stressful they never become cruel. 

22. Does their work ever interfere with the relationship?

There’s always the classic trust issues with one of them keeping secrets, especially work secrets, bc now it has more than just a professional cast over it. They never have much quiet time. It’s hard to plan for more than just a few weeks ahead bc they never know what’s going to happen next. 

But honestly, the dragon and the curse and the creature-hunting are just part of who they are, and what their relationship is, and it adds a lot too.

Fic: Is My Friend (Wynonna Earp, 1357 words, final part of the Ellipse series)

I liked my post-curse Bobo a lot so I commissioned @tuntematonkorppi to draw him!

Bobo looked... both more and less like himself. His hair was longer, sticking up a little shaggy, sides grown out, and he had a rough beard where she was used to his sharply trimmed goatee. She still wasn't used to seeing him with glasses, but they looked good on him, and his expression was genuine and warm as he came toward them. She would hesitate to use the word 'soft' in description of Bobo del Rey, but he looked happier, peaceful even.

He was wearing a long waxed coat in a cut that reminded of his fur coat, and that made her grin. His flair for the dramatic clearly hadn't all been an act. He cut a striking figure with the backdrop of the damp, gently steaming forest in the sunlight. Like somebody from a novel.
