Webseries Reviews. Looking for reccs always and perspectives on series you loved, liked, or thought could have been done better :) You can also ask me personal questions and (depending on how deep they go) I will answer!
can we please acknowledge that tma/tme is a meaningful distinction? a justice of the US supreme court is openly saying that it's legal to discriminate against trans women because the same laws do not target trans men. the transmisogyny is what makes it permissible. your transphobia is fine as long as it has carveouts for men.
Fascinating parallel here. This incapacity of the legal framework to protect groups who are at the intersection of two protected groups (trans women in this case, black women in the original) even while protecting both groups individually is Crenshaw's original reason for coining the word "intersectionality", which has since gone through the wringer.
“Why don’t you use ai” idk man beyond the obvious environmental and “this machine causes psychosis and encourages people to kill themselves” thing I think asking the equivalent of a solid D student who is also a pathological liar if they can answer my question/do the work for me seems pretty fucking stupid
NFB (National Film Board of Canada//ONF in french) is also a great place to find free documentaries + lots of animation movies. Their youtube channel is here but they also have a website thats wayyy easier to use. They even have an app!
Watch quality Canadian documentary, animation and fiction films online
Come to think of it, it really is insane that my entire country is burning alive and literally no one in the rest of the world cares. Thousands of Indians are dying every day from the heat, it's 45+ degrees in multiple areas, the government couldn't give two fucks, we're getting severe warnings and red alerts, and not a soul outside of South Asia is speaking about it because why would you ever care about brown people
USA folks, that is a consistent temperature range hitting 113°. Death Valley temperatures. In Banda, it hovered between 116°-118° (47°-48° C) for a week straight.
This has been happening all month with little to no international media attention. Here are a few organizations you can check out for resources or to support:
important that you never forgive ice agents, ever. even years after all this is over (and I do believe we will make it out on the other side, alive and for the better,) they live in shame and disgrace forever. no excuses, no forgiveness. they ruined their own lives when they decided that human freedom and liberty was an acceptable sacrifice for a paycheck

Jamie and Sherlock face the past, present, and future in the series finale of The Adventures of Jamie Watson and Sherlock Holmes.
Inspired by “The Adventure of the Devil's Foot” and “The Valley of Fear” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Sometimes a cast of characters in a book or whatever is implied to be overwhelmingly white as that's just assumed to be the "default" so fandoms will take it upon themselves to do colour-blind casting to make it more diverse, but they haven't quite learned racist/colourist stereotypes and archetypes so now we've got people just doing. god I don't even know how to describe it. It's just bad
To be a precise it's a literary inspired web series tournament! To be even more precise it's a bracket tournament that pits episodes/videos from sereies posted on youtube that were inspired by books/plays/etc.
We don't have a blog or anything yet but submissions are opened (here) !! both submitting and reblogging this post is appreciated ! <3
So many people on this website (and wider society) treat misogyny as something that woman can 'run away' from or just avoid if she's smart enough. That if she just dates the right men, chooses the right job, the right friends, the correct hobbies, and consumes the correct media, then she can free herself from patriarchy or atleast the worse of its effects.
Not only does this set up patriarchy as something individual and nebulous (therefore able to avoided with correct individual actions) rather than something systematic and wide reaching, but it also sets up misogyny experienced by women as being that women's personal failing. And therefore, somewhat deserved. After all, what did you expect when you married a man Like That? When you went into one of those kind of jobs, when you picked up That hobby? When you read that kind of book?
At its core it gives women no room for complaint (after all if YOU chose better YOU wouldn't be in this situation), diminishes the importance of organising (why organise when misogyny is experienced due to ~life style choices~ rather than systems of oppression) and lastly obscures the very nature by which patriarchy functions, centering women in a way that implies they bring patriarchy upon themselves rather than have it inflicted on them BY men. But what can I say? Who doesn't love to blame women for it all.
If you are on a Windows 11 computer, pause everything you are doing for one minute and:
Open computer settings
Click on Accessibility on the left-hand menu
Scroll down the Accessibility menu and click on the Keyboard Option
Under the "related settings" tab, click "Typing" which should have a description of "spellcheck, autocorrect, text suggestions."
Turn off the AI "correct misspelled words"
and most importantly: turn off Typing Insights.

To help you save time and type efficiently, Windows can learn to suggest words, autocorrect spelling mistakes, and interpret swiped typing. Take a look at the insights below to see up-to-the-minute stats on how Windows has learned to improve typing for you. These stats are stored only on this device and Microsoft does not collect the typing insights data."

"But Mx. November, it says right there Microsoft doesn't collect the typing insights data!"
I mean, yeah, it says that..... for *now.*
It also only specifies that Microsoft themselves don't collect it, and they wouldn't have made this something that I was automatically, secretly opted in for without my knowledge if they didn't have something to be gained by me not knowing it exists!
I only found this because a cat walked on the keyboard and turned on Filter Keys and while trying to figure out why my keyboard was just making chirping noises instead of typing, I happened to click on "typing insights" by accident.
Generative AI, and especially AI that is used to "personalize" and track your activity across the web and on your computer are never going to be in your best interest, it is always going to serve these companies in whatever way will line their pockets the most, and all it takes is updating their terms of service once, and then all of that data they promised they weren't collecting suddenly all belongs to them.
