so i've been questioning this kintype for awhile now and i'm kinda stuck. it's very possible that there's no word for it, but i tend to 'kin from things that exist in mythology, so i was wondering if anyone could think of a creature that fits this description (or an umbrella term):

-human or possibly beyond-human intelligence. not omnipotent or god-like, but definitely very intelligent

-it can take many forms, but its main one is a shadowy / pitch black canine. i can't tell if it's biological or ethereal in nature but it possibly can be either.

-not humanoid (at least most of the time), except it can be a bipedal/anthro animal

-other main form is that of a bipedal canine or feline

-can wear clothes in bipedal forms. usually some kind of "traveling" gear. see images below

-possibly a kind of forest guardian or forest spirit. definitely lives in the forest

-often presents as a chimera of sorts, having different features of various forest animals (for example a wolf body with bat wings and hooves)

-shapeshifter, especially into different animals

-generally feared by people but usually just minds its own business. not 'evil' or dark in nature, nor pure and good in nature

-possibly has skull face / wears a skull?

-feeing very much deer antlers, too

i was hesitant to identify the kintype i've recently discovered as 'demonkin' , because i dont associate it at all with evil or abrahamic religions

then i realized that daemons are literally just "a divinity or supernatural being of a nature between gods and humans." which fits for sure. just to avoid confusion i'll probably call myself daemonkin, or spiritkin :')

2. What was it like discovering you were otherkin?

I honestly dont remember a ton since it was so long ago,, but i do remember feeling very euphoric and dysphoric at the same time. because of other stuff going on in my life, i had terrible species dysphoria where i wanted nothing more than to become a dog/wolf and get away from human society. at the same time i was discovering a part of myself and that alone was a great feeling. so kind of a mixed bag of emotions i think

39. Do you have any collections that relate to your kintype(s)? (ex: a hoard of jewels for a dragonkin)

hmm kinda. its not on purpose tho. i have a ton of stuffed animals but especially canine related ones. mostly because i just love canines and also happen to be one lol. and i have a collection of bones which again could be attributed to a few of my kintypes, but i dont have any collections i started specifically because of a kintype. i do have a tail and ears but only one set so not a collection but yea!

49. Are you having trouble accepting any kintype(s)? If so, what kintype(s) and why?

hmmm.. not that i can think of off the top of my head. im usually pretty chill about my kintypes because i know theres not much i can do to prevent having one. i guess theres a few fiction synpaths im a little embarrassed of but not full kintypes. in the past, something that was a little hard for me to accept was being canine cladotherian, because i felt SO extra for being kin w literally every canine species. but fuck it we ball. now ive accepted that im just dog (chronically)

3: do your kintypes impact your personality/actions in any way? if so, how?

for sure. i find that i share a lot of personality traits with my kintypes, especially my theriotypes. for example i'm a very loyal person and i'm dogkin. also, during certain fiction-kinshifts i may act somewhat more like that character, for example i may be more analytical during a will graham shift. but in general i tend to have similar personalities to a lot of my fictotypes regardless of shifts

19. what, if any, attributes of yourself remind you of your kintypes?

well, ive been told i have a "canine" appearance, especially due to my rotated canine teeth that make them appear sharper (also always biting my lip because of that lmao) and i guess having shaggy/curly brown hair? speaking of hair, i share that hair type and color with one of my strongest fictotypes (will graham) and we also have the same eye color. as for non-physical attributes, basically what i said for question 3 applies!

37. when did you discover your first kintype?

i believe i found out i was wolfkin way back when i was around 10-12 (im horrible at estimating my age but thats my best guess). i remember it was at the peak of "cringe culture", and that exposed me to both otherkin/therians and furries. and through that i realized i was a wolf therian and that i wanted to be a furry, too. however i didnt actively think about being a therian (probably due to how 'cringe' it was) despite knowing i was until a few more years after that, and then a couple of years ago i had yet another awakening of spiritual fictionkin stuff and i began thinking about my otherkin identities more seriously at that time, too

playing wolfquest as a kid has made it so difficult to tell if something is a real wolf memory or just a fuzzy memory of playing that game
