I feel like it would take Wylan years to stop apologizing for taking up space in a room.

Suffers insomnia, as well as nightmares and night terrors when he can sleep.

Falls asleep much faster if someone is nearby (one room over at the most so he can still hear they're there). Even faster if Jesper is with him or holding him in some way.

Pretty irritable for most of the day after nightmares/night terrors. Mostly keeps to himself that day because he doesn't like the idea of taking it out on others.

Despises coffee because the house always smelled of coffee in the morning when he was growing up. On the very rare occasion he does drink coffee, Wylan adds so much sugar and cream that it's 0.1% coffee by the time he's done.

Loves tea, any kind. One tablespoon of honey, very little milk.

Favorite dessert is a shortbread cookie with raspberry jam and powdered sugar - coffee is the only thing that has to be incredibly sweet, he doesn't have much of a sweet tooth.

Flute's his favorite to play but also great at piano, violin, and lyre. He isn't super confident in his singing voice even though it's literally angelic.

Height it 5'-7" to 5'-9" (170cm to 175cm) - shorter than average for a guy but not necessarily short.

Loves when people touch his hair or play with it, but he has to know them well.

Hates fantasy/fairy tales. The concept of a happily ever after, or an ending where everyone always apologizes and ends on good terms is so annoying to him. Likes an ambiguous and realistic ending.

Snorts when he laughs, which he finds embarrassing but Jesper adores it.

Blushes at anything. Saying something to him that sounds even 1% like a compliment makes him tomato red. He also goes red if he's even a tiny bit warm, so everyone thinks he's flustered over something but he's just hot.

Pretty good at first aid, but only on himself. He hates gore when it comes to other people, anything more than a paper cut and Wylan panics/feels sick.

He had a stuffie growing up that Marya's mother made for him - I can see it being a tiger or a fox. Jan has tried to throw it away but Wylan always got it back via rescue mission or his music tutor would rescue it for him. It's super worn and discolored now but can't bear the idea of not having it.

Really likes cooking! It's like doing science, and he's pretty good at it after some practice.

Has my OCD because I said so. But also because it fits him - especially magical thinking.

Has chronic pain from a combo of poorly healed wounds from Jan and overexhaustion (there's probably a diagnosis for it but isn't interested in finding out).

Never had proper hearing protection from the explosions, so has mild-moderate hearing loss.

Wouldn’t get the Dregs tattoo but still wants to feel included sometimes, so he’ll draw it on himself in pen before the crows head out sometimes. Jesper teases him about it but everyone else loves that he does that.

Wylan has a habit of humming while he works on explosives, little classical pieces under his breath. Jesper finds it both endearing and slightly terrifying.

remember when i said wylan probably has chronic pain

yeah so. i have a sprained ankle and foot rn. it isn’t healing well because i’m stupid and keep walking. and i fully believe wylan has chronic pain because of shit like that: old injuries that won’t heal because he refuses to rest them, especially from right after he left the van eck mansion and had people after him. he was in hiding and couldn’t stay in one place, had to stay under the radar. to rest was to be static for too long. he just walked on fractures and sprains and worked through the poorly healed broken fingers or arms.

but it’s a habit jesper has tried to get him to break a billion times. he’s still up and working and walking around after the auction and torture by van eck, jesper is horrified when he sees wylan in the hall, going to get more water (see: me limping down the hall pathetically and wincing every time i step on my left leg)
