Thankfully, with a little convincing Matthias was willing to jog back to the bathroom and finish getting dressed. With how handsome he was, Nina didn't think anyone in the room would focus if so much of him was on display during the argument. Especially not Kaz, who was still red as a cherry and rubbing his lips together like he could feel the lingering touch of Helvar on them. Poor thing looked close to overheating.
Nina herself felt pretty hot under her collar, but Saints only knew why. She should be jealous. Offended that her fiancé kissed another boy in front of her - and only a tight pair of briefs away from naked while doing it. At the very least, it should make her uncomfortable. But instead, as her tears dried down her cheeks and her heart beat erratically in her chest, she found herself only mildly annoyed. And not even at Kaz - no, she was just annoyed Matthias actually had the balls to act on his feelings. That was something Nina had been hesitating to do as of late, and it was pissing her off.
Nina and Matthias had talked about it, of course, deep into the night as they laid next to each other in Wylan's renovated estate. About their feelings. She found that after everything they had survived, even with his hand freely entwined in hers, she could not help but feel… guilty. Like she was betraying him because she was able hold more than just his hand alone. Like she had eaten her grandest meal but could still hear her stomach grumble for more. It was embarassing. She had crossed literal and metaphorical seas to be with this man, but even though they were together now she couldn't help but feel like the story wasn't over yet. This was not love-d, to be describe in the past. She had not won Matthias. Something still hungry and desperate within her said this was only a fraction of what they could have together. Luckily, her fiancé shared the sentiment. Unluckily, he also knew it's source.
They both had a fucking thing for their coworkers.
