i’ll tell you guys one thing, playing bg3 for 12 hours straight isn’t the best thing for your mental health. i genuinely thought earlier that i’d have to roll to do something irl…
"May I have this dance?" (for Wyll, if thats okay!)
If there was a crack in the emotions, it definitely showed with how Karlach was curious to ask for Wyll's hand for a dance. There was very little that he needed to convince him to accompany her. "You may and you shall." After all, these type of activities was were he felt at his most natural. Even when was feeling strange with what he had morphed into. Plus it would be fun if nothing else to offer Karlach something of levity. For she had endured plenty. "Eager to see if I matched what I said about dancing? Promise not to disappoint then." There was a moment where Wyll offered a silent look. As if to ask Karlach an unsaid question. As he kept his hand in hers in a neutral position while he had assumed the position for the dance to take place. "Plus. it would be nice to dance amongst ourselves than with our blades for a change yeah?" There is a gentle chuckle to him. It was a give and take. For their displays of valor would secure them the moments like this.
One thing I want to make mention is that my Wyll is gonna be heavily headcanon based. I am of the camp that Larian really dropped the ball not having confidence with Wyll's early access characterization. But I am not one to disregard the good aspects of his character beats in his finished product. I think both would serve to make Wyll way more of a flawed and nuanced individual. - Wyll would be more boastful if a bit playfully arrogant in the early parts of the game. There is a lot of performative and slight overcompensating to his being that layer his good deeds. Which leaves plenty to think on with why he does the things he does. - At times, you have to take things Wyll might say with a reasonable grain of salt. Because his choice of words are caked in grandeur. Which leaves enough of a grain of doubt if it really happened as how he described or is if its actual truth. Which is a fun thing for people to decipher and or poke fun at should you wish to contest it. - Unlike his father. Wyll in the early moments falls into that similar trap of those wanting to make their own reputation which is to beat their chest and be more audacious. His heart to do good is there. But there is lesson to be learned on finding the actual reasons for the WHY. Not the performance and pomp of the act. Along with the focal point of his strong emotions being at the crux of his character. - Depending on how aligned your Tav is. You can guide Wyll to slowly morph and become the principled and resilient confidence that slowly morphs into the Wyll that we know into the final release.
