Our fifth artist in our collection to close #womenshistorymonth is the amazing Carrie Arnold. She was an artist, historian, and businesswoman born in Greeley, Colorado in 1944, later attending UNC as an art major. She and her husband operated the Fort Restaurant near Morrison, CO. Her studies in history of the West gained her publications and presentations New Mexico, and she was a known railroad buff, serving as VP of the Denver HO Model Railroad Club and sat on the Colorado Railroad Museum Board. These illustrations were commissioned by Bill Lagos of his home area in Sunrise and Hartville, Wyoming - and were used as Christmas cards. Laramie residents will recognize the last illustration as Annie Moore's house on the corner of University and 9th Street. #5womenartists #alwaysarchiving #archivesofinstagram #wyominghistory #westernhistory #wildwest #laramigos #wyominglife #wyomingwinter #christmascards #westernartists #wyomingartist #womanartist #coloradoartist #wyoming (at American Heritage Center)
