Congratulations to the newest graduates of University of Wyoming​! 90 years ago, the University's bridle and spur were passed down from the 1927 graduates to the junior class, seen in this photo. The bridle and spur ceremony was part of the annual senior swing out that occurred on campus during the week of commencement many decades ago. Copper-engraved portrait of the Late Renaissance "pittrice" (painter) Marietta Tintoretta, also known as Marietta Robusti (1560-1590), from Venice. The Tintoretta part is a nickname reference to her famous father, Jacopo Robusti - a.k.a. #Tintoretto. This portrait of her comes from Carlo Ridolfi's Della Marviglie dell'Arte (Venice: Sgava, 1648) - a collection of artist biographies. Babe London was an comedienne of early Hollywood. She appeared in more than 50 silent films and appeared alongside Charlie Chaplin, W.C. Fields, and Harry Langdon. Uncharacteristic of the film industry as we know it today, her acting career declined after she lost 100 pounds at the onset of a heart condition. London would then devote her creative energy to painting works inspired by her experiences in Hollywood. 75 of these paintings are housed in the American Heritage Center.
