“What?”
Derek scanned the room until he finally rested his eyes on who he was looking for. Scott. Pushing, and tripping, through the crowd and over to him Derek grabbed his arm. Pulling him off to the side, he spoke with clear worry. “Are you-” Cutting himself off, he looked over to where he had seen something. Someone that he didn’t want to see. Want was the wrong word. But what word was there? Shaking his head, he stared at the spot for a second. No one was there. It wasn’t real. “Is it just me or are you seeing things that aren’t really there?” he questioned, looking back at the younger alpha. Face falling into a more stern look, he continued, “And no, I didn’t take any LSD so don’t ask.”
Dakota was staring straight ahead, completely focused on her mother sitting at the pool and laughing with friends, waving her over. It took her less than a second to start over to the woman and she was barely phased when she started to push through people. That was until she got into a head on collision with another girl who seemed about her age. “Oh fuck- I’m really sorry. I was just-” She looked towards her mother and saw that she was gone, sighing and figuring she had gone inside for another drink. “I’m sorry. I’m Dakota.”
Lydia had spent most of the day preparing for her party that night--and she was pretty proud of the way it turned out. The party was barely in full swing, but it seemed like everyone was having a good time. Now that Lydia wasn't known as the crazy one in town, it wasn't hard to get a good turn out. She glanced up when she saw someone walking to the drink table and smiled slightly, "Drink?" She offered, lifting the glass towards them.
“Could you move a little to the left? You’re blocking my sun.”
“How’d you manage to get out of it this time, uncle Peter? You know, it’s actually quite -- impressive, the way you escape nearly ever situation you manage to find yourself in.”
Dakota turned her head when she heard someone say the name ‘Scott’. She had been told from 2 different people that she should go to him for advice about being a wolf and honestly, she was curious about what the fuss was all about. “You wouldn’t happen to be Scott McCall, would you?”
After the fight was over, Derek immediately went over to Cora and checked for any wounds. “Are you okay!?”
