ugh sorry you had to go through that. Abled momitis is a terrible issue.
you might say it's a disease
So I couldnt find a submit or ask section so Im putting this here. Id like if you could publish it. Any other auties or sensory sea turtles get where they are hypersensitive to pressure? I mean I have the typical mechanical allodynia and pressure seeking tendencies but I am also pressure avoidant. I find pressure on the bottoms of my feet excrutiating, or laying in bed and feeling the pressure of the mattress against my arms, or the pressure from pressing keys or using my fingers on a touchscreen. It’s almost as if the input is just overwhelming and sometimes even outright painful. I often squish myself in all kinds of different positions in an attempt to stop the pain or the overwhelming sensation from pressure or mechanical allodynia. Different parts of my body seem to have different sensitivities. Ugh just..Im not alone right? Why is having a body so uncomfortable?

why are people expecting three year olds to stay still and "listen to a speaker" in the first place. Christ.
Probably because that level of focus is a requirement of lots of therapy. So basically "my kid has delays, he can't do an exceptional for his age thing required for therapy" then "oh my god, he can now do a thing that's normal for his age. Must have been the therapy"
Yeah, asking a 3 year old to focus like that is really, really fucked. They're a toddler.

That's what I had assumed, but apparently neurotypicals don't usually experience it? It has a specific name, I just don't remember it.
