Party - Charles Xavier x Teen!reader
Warnings - mention of alcohol, talks of self-sabotaging, harsh themes of self.
The main hall was filled with drunk teens, dancing to loud music that doesn't really have a point to make. Y/n L/n looked down at the party form the upstairs terrace. A proud smirk, and a red solo cup in hand. Her best friend f/n stands next to her, their head in their hands. "Xavier going to find out." they yelled at her over the loud music, she just rolls her eyes. "No, he won't. He is in Washington for like three more days. Not to mention look around, everyone is having a great time. Look Pete is zooming through here and picking up all the chicks. Say what you will super speed is sick."
"Y/n! We are going to be in such trouble, you're going to get expelled for sure."
"Oh no, I'm going to get expelled from a school I don't even want to be in." Suddenly a stern voice echoed through all the students' heads. "Students. This is a travesty, a reckless use of school property! I want everyone to disperse back to your dorms. Punishments will be handed out tomorrow." Charles Xavier projects as the X - Men all escort the students out. Stern disappointments prominent in all of them.
"Well, that puts a damper on things." Y/n mumbles, taking a swig of her drink. As her friend leaves for their dorm. She walks down the stairs meeting her professor at the bottom. "Miss. L/n." He props his elbow on his arm rest, his head in his hand. She sits down on the bottom step taking her final sip. "Hey, Professor." She greets a drunk smile forms as she giggles for no reason.
"How did I know you were going to do something reckless, as I was away?"
"You can read minds." She hiccups looking down resting her arms on her knees. "Yet, you do something reckless." She nods not meeting his eyes. He looks at her pointedly, "Miss L/n can you tell me why you don't want to be here?"
"You know that." She slurs finally looking up at him. Guilt starts to build as she sees his disappointment. "Yes, I do, tell me."
"Cause I don't want to be a mutant. So, if I get expelled, I won't be known as the mutant girl on the block. Just Xaviers mishap." She answers looking back down, sobering up.
"You see yourself as a mishap?" He asks curiously, his heart starting to hurt for her. "I can make things move, read, and project things with my mind. Effortlessly." She deadpans, "You have a strong gift." He answers simply, "No. No, my family not talking to me. My family being scared of me. Being known as the weird mutant kid on the block! That is not a gift!"
"They are afraid of things that they do not understand. You are afraid of things you do not understand. You will learn that family does not mean blood. You are a strong girl, not only in gifts but in heart. You will see that this school is what is best for you. I will not give up on you."
She nods, "respectively sir I think you're wasting your time with me."
"I don't care. I know what your made of. I know what you can do. I know you are worth a hell of a lot more than you believe. Please excuse my language."
"Thank you, sir."
"I mean every word. Now, your punishment for throwing such a horrendous example of rebellion I have ever seen."
"Ouch." He glares at her for a second before continuing. "Is to clean all this up. I want it just as clean as I left, and you will also be on the kitchens dishes duty for a month." She winces at her tedious punishment, and takes a deep breath in. "Yes sir."
