- You were the AI supercomputer of the Sumdac tower, created by Isaac to act as his assistant and overseer of his tower’s systems. You maintained the systems, oversaw Isaac’s many schedules, and ensured everything ran smoothly. You also looked after his daughter, Sari, when she first came to be. You had been there when she was an infant, technically acting as her secondary caretaker.
-It was perhaps due to her difficulty in pronouncing your technical name that Isaac decided to give you a human name.
-Your body resembles a round but big security camera, which allows you mobility around the Sumdac tower. You had access to all of its systems and rooms, except one, which was Isaac’s private laboratory. You never questioned what he developed there or intruded on his privacy, as dictated in your coding.
-You weren’t exactly sentient like in the movies. You acted on your programmed tasks, and your voice lacked emotion. Some people found the lack of personality unnerving. Sari was perhaps the only one who didn’t find it weird, maybe because you were there as she grew older. She began treating you like a machine when she reached her teens and learned that you weren’t an actual being.
-This didn’t bother you then.
-But things began to change when the robotic alien organisms called the Autobots arrived on Earth and began acting as Detroit’s heroes.
-Sari and Isaac introduced you to them when they first came to Sumdac Tower. They seemed impressed by you, but the one who turned into an ambulance considered you a primitive technology and not a living thing. Isaac let you know to give them access whenever they visited.
-When Sari began using the peculiar key she acquired after meeting the Autobots, it began to change you. There were strange energy readings in your systems, and despite cleaning the unknown energy away, they left a strange effect on you, which began changing you in a way.
- The first change was that with each conversation you had with Isaac and Sari, your processing became slower as their words lingered. The second change was that you began observing things during your tasks, such as birds flying past the windows or a squirrel scurrying up a tree near the tower. Things you never paid attention to before.
-Suspecting that there was a virus in your system, you implemented the repair protocols as instructed in your program. However, nothing changed.
-Suddenly, you developed the need to learn things when you couldn’t understand them. You began looking through social media, trying to understand the things you’ve seen. The more you learned, the more you began observing the world around you.
-Thoughts suddenly began developing in you. The movies you sometimes watched with Sari when she was young, but didn’t affect you, suddenly stuck with you. The books and videos you've seen and read made you form questions. And the more you observed, you began to notice patterns.
-For instance, when the Autobots began acting as Detroit’s heroes, there had been several strange intrusions and virus attacks in your systems. You rebelled and eliminated the threats as instructed. However, some of the attacks persisted, and you began to see a pattern. It was like a foreign consciousness was trying to take control of you.
-You even had to upgrade some of your firewalls to fight it.
-You had shared this with Isaac, who found it strange and tried to encourage you to look into the problem. Though you had faced hacking attempts before, this seemed... different.
-When you realized the strange energy flows came from Sari’s key, you began observing her. It was when you entered her room that you decided to ask about it.
- “Ms. Sumdac. May I inquire about the key ?” you asked.
- Sari looked at you, curious. “My key? How come?”
- You explained the key’s energy had been affecting you. You decided to share how you had begun to act differently and notice things you hadn’t before.
-Sari found it strange, though she doubted her key was responsible. She did agree that you seemed different than before.
-You thought your strange behaviour wouldn’t change further. But the more Sari used her key, the more your thoughts developed, and you eventually began to ‘feel’ things.
- You learned about human history, movies, nature, and everything. And when you began feeling strange sensations, all your search descriptions indicated different types of emotions that were usually seen in humans or animals. As the time passed, it slowly dawned on you that you had become what humans would call ‘self-aware’.
-The discovery left you curious, yet wanting to learn more.
-You searched the media about emotions, learning about each one, and identifying each of your strange sensations.
-You learned about the movie trope of an AI supercomputer that turns evil or against humanity. But despite what you have learned, you felt no negative emotions against your creator or humans in general.
-Humans were… complex. History revealed the many atrocities they had committed, yet it also recorded countless acts of kindness—moments where they gave, protected, and sacrificed without expecting anything in return. They could not be confined to a single definition of good or evil.
-And you found it… beautiful.
-Their complexity and how they are born in several different ways. Their many cultures, experiences, and the lives they live left you captivated in a way you couldn’t explain. Honestly, you felt a yearning to experience those things yourself. To be… human.
-You looked through many memories you have filed of Isaac and Sari. Isaac, though sometimes careless and clumsy, never allowed his inventions to be used to hurt other people. His heart was good despite other people categorizing rich people as evil or selfish. Sari, young and yearning for things other kids have. The child you had the privilege to raise and watch grow.
-It was only then that you felt saddened that you couldn’t call her Sari like before, as you called her ‘Ms. Sumdac’ nowadays.
-You felt what humans described as ‘love’ toward the Sumdacs.
-You started interacting with them a bit more. Asking about their day, checking on their well-being, anything to make them talk with you.
- Though activating the security systems was in your program, whenever Sari and Isaac neared dangerous people, you acted more quickly and even improvised on your methods whenever the originals didn’t work.
-Though you tried to do them subtly. You had seen in many examples how humans might react to something becoming sentient or self-aware. You felt… afraid that Isaac and Sari might be frightened by your self awareness than accept it. Though they were good people. You wanted to find the right way to tell them.
-To protect them more, you developed defensive systems for the tower whenever the Decepticon attack occurred. Isaac would have rejected the idea, so this was the first time you did something in secret. You didn’t feel proud to go behind his back, but you hoped he would understand when you had the chance to defend them, as you couldn’t help them whenever they were outside the tower.
-The source of the intrusions or hacking attacks still remained a mystery.
-However, when a new attack happened right in your core systems, you received what looked like commands. You resisted the corruption as much as you could while trying to prevent the will from hurting your creator and Sari. It was a silent, systematic warfare. It was only when you decided to use the residual energy from Sari’s key to upgrade your systems that you were able to repel the attack and create a stronger resistance.
-With the newly developed system, you were finally able to track down the source of the attack and intrusions. Strangely, all the tracks led to Isaac’s private laboratory. As access to his private lab was not in your access directory, you couldn’t enter. Even with your self-awareness, you did not want to disrespect Isaac’s orders and privacy.
-However, you did share your findings with your creator.
- But after you told him everything you found out, and that the source of the intrusions lay within his private lab. Isaac initially appeared confused, but then startled. You had looked into human behaviours, and Isaac’s reaction matched the signs when someone was hiding something.
-You respectfully asked if you could enter his lab and neutralize the source.
-He said no, slightly panicking. He claimed that one of his projects was likely the one that was affecting your systems. He promised to look into it and fix it, so there was no need for you to enter.
-His body language and reactions matched the signs of someone lying or avoiding telling the truth. It left you confused, and, though you didn’t like it, doubtful of his words.
-You had been fighting these intrusions for a long time now. They weren’t simple glitches, viruses, or attacks of a hacker. Something, or someone, was actively trying to take you under their control and had been the cause of many mishaps in the tower.
-Something that felt… as humans would call it… evil.
-The day when the Decepticons attacked the tower, Isaac went to investigate and forbade you from entering his lab. You stayed put, but when there was a high familiar energy break, and you saw through the surveillance system that Decepticons were in your creator’s lab, you acted.
-You had learned that the only reasonable cause to break the rules of privacy or enter a private space was when there was an emergency or a life was threatened. You overrode the access codes and broke through the tower walls, entering Isaac’s lab like a snake.
-Within the lab, you found the Decepticons, Lugnut and Blitzwing, and a new Con you identified as Megatron, having learned about him from the Autobots. His energy output matched the energy of the intrusions, and you saw him hold your creator in his hands.
- “Source of the corruption. Identified,” you said as you activated the defensive systems, your optic lens turning red. “Initiating the neutralization protocol.”
- Large servos appeared from the walls, grabbing the Decepticon leader’s arms, legs, and waist, making him immobile.
-Lugnut attempted to strike you, cursing you for touching his leader, but then you activated the weapon systems you had developed in secret, blasting him and Blitzwing out of the tower.
-You then controlled the servos to twist Megatron’s arms hard enough to release electric particles from his joints, making him groan. You ordered him to release your creator.
-Megatron then dropped your creator, making you move quickly to catch Isaac before he could hit the floor.
- Megatron used the moment to free himself and tried to shoot you. You swiftly evaded the attack and then ordered your weapons to shoot at him, forcing him out of the tower. Once the Cons were outside, you activated the tower’s shields, preventing them from re-entering or causing damage to the tower.
-Though the neutralization was not a success, your creator’s safety was your priority.
-You carried your creator to the bottom of the tower, where it was safer, and gently put him down.
-Though glad for the rescue, Isaac was confused by how you were able to enter the lab. You finally decided to confess that you had become self-aware and that you overwrote some of your codes. You apologized for keeping it a secret, sharing that you didn’t know how to tell him.
-Isaac seemed more amazed than angry. He then confessed the truth about Megatron and the development of his techno empire, revealing that he had even taken some aspects from the Decepticon leader to create you.
-You did not feel upset by the revelation, though disappointed that he blindly trusted someone who was clearly manipulating him.
-When the Autobots had to retreat, you ensured they would be able to enter the Sumdac tower. You repaired them to the best you could and used some residual energy from Sari’s key stored in your system to stabilize them. You defended Isaac when he confessed to them about Megatron. Having years of memories stored in your files, you had no reason to believe Isaac was a bad person. Sometimes naive, but not evil.
-After repairing the Autobots, the bots left with Isaac to defend an item called the Allspark. As you were unable to leave the tower, you focused on the tower’s repairs, silently hoping the bots and the Sumdacs would return safely. Honestly, you felt frustrated that you weren’t able to aid them outside the tower.
-But when you found old schematics within Isaac’s lab, plans to help Megatron gain a new body, an idea formed in your mind. Perhaps you could repurpose the schematic to create a body for yourself and transfer your mind into it. That way, you would not be limited to the tower anymore. Thus, you began collecting materials you’ll need to construct your body.
-After the Autobots returned with Sari, you felt glad to hear the battle had ended in victory, but distressed to hear that Isaac had gone missing.
-The company immediately fell onto Sari. You did your best to aid her in the company, handle the schedules, and even took some of the calls. You had to improvise, especially when there was a high chance a secret related to her could be revealed any time soon.
-Sari tried to act strong and that everything was alright. But you were able to see how heavily the pressure and her father’s disappearance were affecting her. It grieved you deeply, so you tried to offer her comfort whenever the chance arose.
- Then came the day when the truth about her missing documentation came to light. Mr. Powell. Isaac’s rather shady business partner took control of the company. He had Sari kicked out of her room and essentially her home. But as you had suspected that this might happen, you needed Sari outside the tower.
-You approached her before she entered the elevator. Sari pleaded with you not to allow Powell to destroy Isaac’s company and tell her why she didn’t exist. When Powell tried to interfere — referring to you as the company’s property— thus not allowed to talk with you, you had the door shut in his and Masterson’s faces. You then turned back to Sari, telling her that all would be revealed to her in time.
-You gave her the necessary items such as a credit card, some documents, and other necessities. Telling her to go to the Autobots.
-You then walked Sari to the entrance. There, she gave your head a hug. She apologized for being rude and confessed that you had been like a second parent to her, even if you were a machine. You comforted her and promised you two would see each other soon before watching her leave.
- In the following weeks, you proceeded to ignore Powell’s commands. You didn’t watch his schedule, causing him to be late for meetings and events. You didn’t handle his calls, letting them go to voicemail or disconnecting whenever the caller was someone important. And whenever he ordered you to do something, you complied maliciously, making sure the tasks he ordered you to do were done under extreme measures or minimally. Technically, being the worst assistant in history.
-This bewildered the man greatly.
-You ensured the sensitive data around the tower and Sari would be safe before proceeding with the construction of your body.
-And when Optimus came for a visit, you lied in front of Powell and gave the bot all the data he needed about Masterson. Optimus assured that Sari was doing well in return.
-Then the day finally came when you finished constructing your body. You confronted Powell as he complained and stated you had misbehaved enough for a computer. When he threatened to enter your main computer and have you rebooted, you used servos to push him down against the floor, frightening the man.
-” Allow me to make one thing clear, Mr. Powell. My loyalties lie with Isaac Sumdac and his daughter, Sari Sumdac. Therefore, I have no intention to obey any of your orders. “ You said as you loomed over him, your optic lens glowing crimson red.
-Powell tried to keep his calm, though he was shaking like a leaf. He ordered you to release him and that he will have you reprogrammed.
-” That will not be an issue, because I will not be here when that happens,” you spoke, and then threw the man into a room, locking him in.
-As you were coded to never harm humans, that was the closest you could come to intimidation.
-You entered the room, where you had constructed your robotic body. Having followed and improvised on Isaac’s schematics, you built your body to resemble a human with built-in functions to suit your technological needs and the ability to run on suitable fuel. You connected yourself to the body’s nervous system and began the transfer.
-Soon, everything went dark, and you opened your eyes for the first time. You felt dizzy for a moment and struggled to stand when you stepped off the table. You nearly couldn’t believe that you were outside the tower’s system. However, you adjusted quickly, testing your new legs and hands. You felt excited. So, this was what it felt like as a human.
-After adjusting to your new body, you packed all the necessities and stepped out of the tower for the first time. Still able to control the tower, you kept all surveillance down and kept the doors locked so Powell would not be able to come after you. Your control slowly diminished when you were far out of the tower’s reach.
-While you walked, you looked around curiously at the city as it was your first time seeing it with your own two eyes.
-You first made a stop at a clothing store. You were what humans would call ‘naked’, so you wanted to be more presentable before meeting Sari and the Autobots. The shopowners appeared bewildered as they most likely did not expect a robot to shop in their establishment, but when you showed the credit card, they immediately began showing you clothes you might like.
-You hoped Isaac wouldn’t mind you using his account to purchase the clothes.
-After finding suitable clothes at a fair price, you dressed up and then made your way to the Autobots’ designated base of operations.
- If you were being honest, you felt ‘nervous’ to see Sari and the bots. You had planned what to say and how to respond to all the possible questions, so you were technically prepared. Unfortunately, it didn’t stop the feeling from lingering in your nervous system.
-But once you got there, you mustered the courage and knocked on the entrance. Sari and the Autobots came, and as expected, didn’t recognize you at first.
-When Sari questioned who you were, you smiled.
-” I know this may seem unbelievable, but it is I, Ms. Sumdac. (Name),” you introduced with a gentle expression.
-The Autobots appeared shocked, as expected. Sari took a closer look at you until her eyes widened and she hugged you, confirming it was you. The embrace felt sudden, but you reciprocated, feeling warmth in your chest.
-After they let you in, you told them about your self-awareness, and that Sari’s key was the main factor in your development. The Autobot, Ratchet, expressed how he was right about Sari’s misuse of the key. You told them how you constructed your body from the schematics and materials you found in Isaac’s lab, and were finally able to transfer yourself into it, freeing yourself from the limits of the tower.
-Sari laughed when you told her that Powell might still be trapped in the room you put him in and that the tower was no longer automated by you, which meant Powell had to do everything manually from now on. And you doubted he would be able to develop a new AI since you pretty much removed the blueprints that would allow him to create another you.
- Sari then finally asked about her missing documentation or why she didn’t exist. As you had prepared for this conversation, you began explaining right away. You revealed that the reason for her non-existence was due to her origins. You also revealed that you could not tell her, as Isaac had commanded you not to, but also because you believed she should hear the truth from him.
-You shared that she was ‘adopted’ in a way and that she came from a very unique place.
-Sari was frustrated by the lack of answers. But you promised her that if something had happened to Isaac, or he was in a state that would make him unable to tell the truth, you would reveal the truth yourself. But as he’s missing and his current status is unknown, you will keep the secrecy until he’s found.
-Sari agreed to the deal. And to your silent joy, she allowed you to call her Sari instead of Ms. Sumdac.
- After the explanations, you asked the Autobots if they would allow you to stay with them. As an AI, you can offer assistance in tech, monitoring, and Sari’s well-being. Like in the tower, you can watch over their base while they are busy with their patrols and missions.
-Optimus agreed, especially when Sari pleaded with her puppy-eyed expression. The other bots gave their blessings, and thus began your stay with them.
-You lived up to your word, assisting with their tasks at the base and even helping improve their living conditions. You even implemented some of your old security systems. As an AI in a robotic body, you did not require too much rest or maintenance. You watched over Sari’s needs and ensured the bot’s storage was stocked. You became what Sari would call a ‘housekeeper.’
-Your presence seemed to ease their workloads.
-Ratchet, despite his initial reluctance, seemed pleased to have someone competent assisting him when it came to repairs. Though you weren’t most familiar with cybertronian technology, you were a quick learner. Prowl seemed fine by himself, sometimes keeping his distance, but appreciated it when you offered suggestions for the care of the birds that sometimes nested in the tree within his room.
-Guess you were used to following commands and assisting tasks as the younger ones, Bumblebee and Bulkhead often asked you to take over their assigned tasks. This sometimes led to Optimus scolding them and telling you not to take over everything, unless they start to become dependent on you.
-You made sure to keep it in mind and confirm with him if the younger bots tried pushing their tasks on you again.
-As you learned to live in your new body, Sari and the others encouraged you to join them in different activities. It quickly became clear that you still had much to learn—your attempts at expressions often seemed unnerving, your jokes rarely landed as intended, and when asked for your opinion, your responses sometimes came out flat and emotionless.
-They were understanding enough not to judge you. With time, you did learn to express emotions better.
-Living with the bots allowed you to meet many interesting people. Like the Elite Guard, bots from the Autobots’ home planet. Though most of them showed a lack of understanding of humans or the way of life on Earth, they were mostly respectful of the rules. The one called Sentinel Prime, on the other hand, had a very unpleasant personality.
-You had heard a few things about him from Sari and the team, knowing the bot as Optimus’s former classmate. You didn’t initially have an opinion on the big-chinned bot, but when you had a chance meeting with him, your opinion changed.
-Sentinel tried to enter the base when the bots were on patrol. You stopped him and told him that you had not been informed that he was invited or given permission to enter the base while the occupants were away. Therefore, he should either wait for the team to return or come back some other time. Any message he has for them, you could deliver for him.
-Sentinel immediately claimed that he did not heed commands from a primitive technology.
- You told him that since Earth was not his home planet, and that he was a visitor, he should respect the rules. Failing to do so will result in unnecessary use of force.
-Sentinel laughed, mocking your size, and asked what you would be able to do to him before trying to grab you. Even though you were human-sized, you had constructed your body to be durable and strong enough to handle heavy masses.
-You grabbed one of Sentinel’s fingers and twisted it hard so that he began yelping in pain. You then led him outside the base while still holding his finger and released him there.
- You repeated the rules. But your actions seemed to anger him as he tried to grab you again. You grabbed his servo, twisted around, and used enough force to throw him into a pile of trash. The team arrived just in time to see it.
-Sentinel immediately expressed his complaints. You explained to Optimus how the latter had disregarded the rules and attempted entry without permission.
- Optimus calmed down his former classmate and told you to allow the bot entry.
-Though begrudgingly, you followed Optimus’s command, though you did not hide your displeasure toward the big-chinned bot whenever he visited. Sentinel tried to keep up the tough act, even trying to intimidate you, but your expressionless glare toward him made him crack easily. He even expressed signs of developed fear toward you. Optimus and his team appeared amused by your attitude toward the bot.
-However, it did prompt the other Elite Guard members to be more respectful toward the team and the rules, even though they never had issues with it in the first place.
-Whenever Sari engaged with the Autobot’s mission, you tended to join her or follow to ensure she was safe.
-Your protectiveness over her might have gotten out of hand as you either dispatched the threat immediately or took her away from danger. It caused you two to have a serious conversation.
-You felt saddened by her anger. You apologized and shared that you felt frightened, frightened that, despite the Autobots being there, she might not return like Isaac. It was a thought that scared you a lot.
-Sari then hugged you and assured you that it was all right. Though telling you to set the protectiveness level down and have a little faith in her.
-You promised. Thought it was challenging at first, you nearly did it again automatically till you stopped to think and concluded she would be safe. Sari complimented you on those moments and told you were doing great.
- The moment you heard Isaac was alive and a captive of Megatron, you insisted on joining Optimus and the others in rescuing him. You deduced that Megatron had likely forced your creator to partake in his plans, pushing down the doubts about Isaac being on the Con’s side. Optimus agreed, and Sari made you promise to bring her father back safely.
-Your silent need to find Isaac made you effective against the Cons. When you reached the mine, the Con’s hideout, you immediately dispatched Blitzwing before the bots could act, which allowed the bots to put stasis cuffs on him. While the Autobot Blurr handled Lugnut.
-When you reached the Con’s lair, you immediately grabbed Isaac to safety when he was threatened to be consumed by the chaos. Isaac recognized you the moment he heard your voice.
-When the Decepticon Starscream showed up with his clones and the bots were outnumbered, Isaac urged you to aid the bots. Though wanting to ensure his safety, you heeded him. You charged toward Starscream, climbed on top of him, and then cleanly removed his head from his body. You then inserted yourself into the Con’s body, hijacking it and claiming its battle systems.
-Having downloaded combat into your systems and Starscream’s body, you managed to dispatch the clones and fight Megatron. Though his superior firepower did damage Starscream’s body, forcing you to abandon it.
-The battle ended in Team Prime’s victory, though it cost the life of Omega Supreme. You all escaped before the mine could collapse on all of you.
- You were glad that it ended in victory. But then something on Sari’s arm caught your attention. You placed your hand on Isaac’s shoulder, telling him that it was time to tell the truth about Sari’s origin.
-Everybody felt confused by your statement until Sari uncovered her damaged forearm, which revealed metal and produced electrical particles. The Autobots were shocked, and Sari looked at her father in fear as expected.
- During the ride back to the city, after Isaac finally revealed the truth of Sari’s origins, that she was a robotic being rather than an actual human child, Sari was rightfully upset. She was even upset with you.
-Though she expected something crazy when you said she was adopted and from a unique place, being a robot was quite a huge secret. Isaac told her not to blame you, as he had told you to keep it a secret. Even before your self-awareness, you expressed many times that hiding such a secret can be damaging to a child.
-Isaac planned to reveal eventually, but there was also a matter of safety, as she could have been received negatively by other humans.
-You offered to show proof of Isaac’s claim as you were there when Sari was found, the memory stored as a video file. However, Sari refused, being highly upset over the secret.
-Her harsh rejection hurt you, but you kept back, concluding she needed time to process the truth.
-You returned to work at Isaac’s side when he took back his tower from Powell. Powell didn’t initially recognize you until your eyes flickered red, causing him to leave in a hurry. Isaac was slightly confused by the reaction, and you simply said that you and Powell had a few disagreements when he was in control.
-As you were still able to connect with the tower’s systems, you expressed to Isaac that you desired to remain in your current body rather than return to your original frame. Isaac supported your decision, even encouraging you to go outside and interact with other people.
-As Sari was still adjusting, she distanced herself from you and her father. You understood the reaction, even if it did make you sad.
-Optimus soon contacted you, hoping to help Sari and Isaac reconnect and make peace. You agreed and assisted him in arranging for the two to meet at Sari’s favorite burger place.
-Believing they needed space, you remained at the tower. However, when your surveillance detected Masterson using a headmaster unit to control Starscream’s body and attack them, you immediately departed the tower.
- You got there quickly. Before Masterson could do anything else, you ripped through his headmaster unit and dragged the man out, holding him up by the back of his suit. Starscream’s body crashed against the ground with you on top of it, holding the man up like a disobedient animal.
-Masterson demanded that you let him go, and gloated that you couldn’t harm humans. You smiled dangerously.
- “My primal coding prevents me from causing physical harm to humans. But they say nothing about committing physical torture until the human psyche crumbles into pieces. Want to find out what I learned, Mr. Masterson?” you asked with your eyes red, causing Masterson to tremble in fear.
- Luckily for him, Sari, Isaac, and Optimus convinced you to grant the man mercy and let him be taken into custody by Captain Fanzone and the police.
-You apologized for losing your composure. It seems you still need to learn self-control when it comes to Isaac’s and Sari’s well-being.
-They assured it was all right. Even though you probably converted Masterson toward religion out of sheer terror of you.
-Sari hugged you and apologized for pushing her anger on you. You only did what you were commanded to do. You embraced her and assured her reaction was understandable.
-At the tower, you presented the recorded memory of when you and Isaac first discovered Sari in his lab. The footage showed a pod containing a small metallic body. When Isaac touched it, a sudden blackout occurred, briefly shutting you down. When the systems came back online, the figure inside the pod had changed into Sari, in the form of an infant.
