X-Infernus #4 It's supposed to be impossible to take bloodstones from the Beatrice Medallion once set, but Illyana is done with things being impossible, and with Pixie's help destroys the medallion. The Elder Gods and Witchfire are cast out, but her bloodstones are also lost. Afterward, Illyana still doesn't feel good enough to come home, but after wise words from Kurt, and pleas from her brother, Scott, and some of her New Mutant teammates, she agrees to at least give herself a chance. And so Illyana is officially back with the X-Men.

X-Infernus #1 It's been months since the X-Men have learned that Illyana has returned in some form, and Piotr is pestering Scott to go save her, but Limbo is locked off. Meanwhile, Illyana is not interested in being saved--she is pacifying Limbo with all the force that requires, while hunting for the things that will help her feel human again, namely her Soulsword and the pieces of her soul in the bloodstones Belasco extracted from her. The New X-Men, specifically Pixie, are also still suffering from their Limbo ordeal, and she is suddenly compelled totake het souldagger and stab Kurt... the current bearer of the Soulsword.
