Why do we ship Tom/Cain? - A Reading Guide
Cain Marko and Tom Cassidy are X-Men affiliated characters from Marvel comics. Full reading lists for each characters can be found by clicking on their names in the previous sentence. The two are officially a platonic partnership but as the two are deeply connected, openly physically affectionate, have essentially coparented, and try to share their powers with each other....they are often seen as a romantic couple. But don't just take my word for it- read their story yourself!
Below is a complete list of their mutual appearances (some with issues for just one character added for context)!
Who is....Adam Neramani | Adam-X? - A Reading Guide
Adam Neramani is a mutant from Marvel comics first introduced in 1993. Adam is the most recently confirmed secret Summers brother and was genetically engineered from the DNA of Katherine Summers and Emperor D'Ken of the Shi'ar Empire. Adam was raised by a former member of the King's Guard, Jonath, who trained him in fighting and farming on the outback planet of Ch'reesharaa. When his powers came in, Adam was informed that he was a hybrid and that in order to learn more about his powers and himself he would have to travel to Earth one day, following an attack on his planet and the death of his adoptive father, Adam did just that.
He is possibly the most 90s comic book character to have ever been created, and I love him very much. Please enjoy.

Who is....Tom Cassidy | Black Tom Cassidy? - A Reading Guide
Tom Cassidy is an X-Men affiliated mutant from Marvel comics first introduced in 1976. He is the cousin of Sean Cassidy (Banshee) and a father-figure to Theresa Cassidy (Siryn/Banshee). Tom is heavily associated with Cain Marko (Juggernaut), who he met in prison. Tom's powers are directly tied to the land, and are heavily related to bio-kinesis. During the Krakoan era, Tom fused with the mutant island, Krakoa, which caused him a great deal of distress and drastically changed how he interacts with the world around him.
Below the cut is a full list of Tom's appearances as of 8. January. 2024!
Who is..... Melody Guthrie | Aero? - A Reading Guide
Melody Guthrie is an X-Men affiliated mutant from Marvel comics first introduced in 1986. Melody is the younger sister of Sam Guthrie (Cannonball of the New Mutants), Paige Guthrie (Husk of Generation X) and Jay Guthrie (Icarus of the New X-Men). Melody is the fourth of her siblings to have manifested mutant powers, hers being flight resulting in her codename of Aero. Melody was never part of a team having only been a student at the Xavier Institute. She was depowered during M-Day and was later the first mutant to regain her powers on Krakoa by undergoing the Crucible.
Below you can find a record of Melody’s appearances through August 2023 complete with totally legal links ;)! She does not have many appearances so the following list is very short! I've included some comics that while not necessarily showcasing Mel do help to highlight her family dynamics at the time of her introduction!
Is x men any good? I’ve never seen it before not sure where to start tho and if it will be any good
X-Men is SO GOOD. It’s my favorite part of the Marvel universe, by far. As for where to start, I’d honestly say... pretty much anywhere. There’s never really a good place to start with comics, so it’s best to just pick a series, dive in, and figure it out as you go forward. That said, here are some good places to start (imo)! New Mutants (1983): X-Men The Next Generation! An all new cast of teens start attending the Xavier school, this time with 70% more diversity. They’re all really great kids, and eventually they even get Magneto as their headmaster, which is just perfect.Astonishing X-Men (2004): A more recent, and fairly beloved, comic about the main X-Men team. It was written by Joss Whedon for a while at first, and that stuff is... eh. Some is good, some is okay, and some is reeeeaaaally not cool. But if you skip ahead to #49, you get to read Marjorie Liu’s run, which is my personal favorite version of the X-Men ❤️.Uncanny X-Men (1963): This is the original, classic X-Men series, but it really doesn’t become the X-Men that we know and love until Chris Claremont took over in the 70s. It’s where all the famous stories happened. Dark Phoenix, Days of Future Past, The Brood Saga, etc. It’s incredible, although it definitely has some iffy spots.Excalibur (1987): The Marvelous Misadventures of Kitty Pryde, Nightcrawler, Jean Grey’s Future Daughter, Psylocke’s Brother, And Meggan. AKA a bunch of weirdos run around England and get lost in alternate universes in a very strange comedy. And, if you’d like someone to walk you through the X-Men, and explain it all to you in depth, you’re in luck! There’s a podcast just for that, and it’s so so so so good! Two dudes, explaining everything in (close to) chronological order, for your listening pleasure!Jay & Miles X-Plain The X-Men: http://www.xplainthexmen.comGood luck anon! Have fun!
