thought on the pipeline: so if the liberal government now has bought the pipeline, then if in the next election the NDP manage a majority, do they then have the control to shut down any planned expansion, and possibly even shut down/dismantle the existing line? since the government owns it all now.
Yeah, they would have the power to just kill the project (both the existing pipeline and the expansion), since Kinder Morgan had planned to walk away from the project without the federal government’s purchase.
It would depend on whether the pipeline ends up getting built by the 2019 election or not whether the NDP would have enough time to kill the project.
