That person’s main drive was that ‘the zine was made to profit off lesbians’ even though the zine is primarily made of wlw and completely non-profit, with all proceeds going to lesbian and LGBTQ+ charities, which they could’ve easily seen too if they actually looked at anything to do with the zine rather than clout chasing which is just kinda sad
might have once again stepped on the rake of “out of context tweets pissing me off” there
(also i really dont know whomst they were referring to since no one on the contributor list stood out to me but ... this fandom makes me so anxious dammit)
Ooooh if you're still doing fluffy soriku prompts, 45?
I got a little carried away with this, so even with compressing this a lot, I still ended up dividing it in two parts :D
45. “Where have you been all my life?” “Hiding from you.”
Part 2
It started when they were still little.
Riku hadn’t meant to do it. Honestly. He hadbeen only five and besides, he was a good boy. His parents said so, hisneighbours said so, his teachers said so. So in the light of that, there was noway that Riku could’ve ever meant it.
But, somehow, he had still managed to doit.
Riku had watched, over the fence, how twokids and a man had flied a miniature aircraft on the small field next to hishouse. At some point the man had left the kids alone and went to the house onthe other side of the field, and that was when Riku had decided that he wasbrave enough to go to talk to the kids.
He just wanted to look at the aircraft, that was all.
Riku was not very sure what happened afterthat. His memories from the incident had faded pretty remarkably during theyears, but he still remembered the outcome. The aircraft was on the ground nextto him, and both of the two kids, blue-eyed boys with one with blonde hair andthe other one with brown, standing there and looking at the aircraft, which nowhad the left wing completely wrecked.
And then the brown-haired boy had startedcrying and the blonde had glared at Riku so harshly, that Riku had not managedto say even sorry. Instead, he has turned around and sprinted back to his ownhouse.
Riku still saw the boys often during thatsummer. Either he saw them playing on the field, or he would just notice themin the park or in the grocery store or so on.
He should really go to apologise, even ifit had not been Riku’s fault. But the blonde boy was always where thebrown-haired boy was too, and Riku didn’t want to go to talk to him if he wasthere.
(Not that he was scared about the blonde boy. Nope.)
“Mom”, the brown-haired boy tugged thesleeve of the woman who was accompanying them in the store.
“Can we get peanut butter cups?”
“Not now, Sora”, the woman answered.
“Now come on, let’s go choose the bread.”
The brown-haired boy (Sora) pouted, butfollowed his mother and the other boy. Riku glanced at his own mother pickingup the juice cartons nearby, and he ran to her.
“Mom”, he grabbed her arm.
“Can we get peanut butter cups?”
That evening, Riku had written a note aswell as he could. He didn’t really know what to write and he still wasn’t verygood in it, but he managed to spell Sorawith big letters, and he drew stars and space rockets into the note as well, and he ran across the field with the peanut butter cups and thenote. Then, when he was absolutely sure that no one saw him, Riku put them into the mailbox in front of the house on the other side of the field, and ranback as fast as he could.
Maybe, Riku had thought, if he gavepresents to Sora, the boys would more easily forgive him when he went to talkto them.
That…never happened.
Riku didn’t really know why. Every time hedecided to go talk to them, he got cold feet and backed off. But he continuedputting presents in Sora’s mailbox. Pretty rocks he found from the beach, posters he got from magazines, more peanut butter cups, all that. He still sawSora and the other boy, but not that often when the schools started. The boyswere obviously younger than Riku was, so that probably meant they went to differentplace for day-care than Riku.
At some point, Riku just stopped trying. Itwas now way too awkward in his little mind, but it would’ve been rude to stopgiving the notes and the gifts now if he wasn’t even going to say sorry. So itbecame more like a habit after that.
He learned that Sora had birthday in lateMarch. It was by accident. He just happened to pass a note one day, and noticedthat the house had very bright birthday decorations, and even a big note on thedoor that said “Sora’s birthday party! Welcome!”
Riku had spent the rest of the week tryingto find something really nice. He had, in the end, decided to attach his oldcrown-shaped trinket he had got from somewhere (it had been on his desk for along time now and Riku was not sure about its origins) to the note, with “happylate birthday” written on it.
And Riku just…kinda kept going. The wholenote thing had been now going on so long that he felt bad about stopping all ofa sudden. So he continued it through preschool, through his first grade andthrough second as well.
Then his mom got a better job at somewhereelse, and told him that they were going to move.
Riku had panicked. What was he going to donow? In the end of the day he had told about the notes to his dad, making himpromise to keep it a secret. His dad had swore to not to tell to anyone, andhad then thought about it for a moment.
“How about you look up his address?” he hadsuggested then.
“Then we can send him the notes as letters.”
And that was how had Riku ended up sendinga note and a small present in a letter every Friday, so itwould arrive on Monday to Sora’s mailbox.
That was the story Riku told to Kairi, whenthey were sitting in the campus library one weekend, after she had asked aboutthe note Riku was writing.
“Aww”, Kairi grinned.
“That’s cute. So this has been going on,what, fifteen years?”
“About fifteen now”, Riku answered.
“I don’t even know if he still even getsthem, but it’s pretty dumb to stop now after so long.”
Kairi hummed, looking at Riku putting thenote and a small package of chocolate in to the envelope.
“Are you ever going to tell him who you are?”she asked. Riku’s hands stopped moving, and he stared at the letter for amoment.
“…maybe one day”, he answered.
“It’s just a bit than awkward now.”
Kairi sighed.
“Oh, Riku”, she said softly, as Riku closedthe envelope.
The rest of the year went as normal. Thefinals arrived sooner than it was really necessary, and Riku was honestlyconsidering of just either dropping out of the school or selling his apartmentand moving to the library, so he could focus solely on either sleeping orstudying.
Riku remembered looking at the time at halfpast eleven p.m. and having thought about reading just one more chapter beforecalling it a day.
Instead he woke up drooling on his notes, with someone shaking his shoulder gently.
“Hey”, a voice said when Riku groaned andcracked his eyes open.
“The library is about to close.”
“Okay”, Riku yawned and straightened up, groaningagain as his neck refused to cooperate with him.
“What time is it…?”
“It’s two in the morning”, the voice said.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine”, Riku rubbed hisneck.
“I just fell asleep.”
“I can see that”, the voice said, laughingsoftly, and Riku finally turned to look at the source of it.
First thing he noticed in the yellow lightof the library were blue eyes. In a second came rest of the face, and theunruly brown hair.
A sudden bang of Deja-vu hit Riku, for areason his sleepy brain could not comprehend.
“So, the library is closing”, the blue-eyedyoung man in front of him repeated.
“So you better pack your things and getout.”
“Oh, yeah”, Riku started to pack hisnotebooks in his back bag. He glanced at the man.
“Thanks for waking me up.”
“No problem”, the man smiled at himbrightly.
“Seriously, though, you need to start to goto sleep earlier. I’ve seen you here every night for the past few weeks.”
“Sure”, Riku answered.
“And what are you doing here every nightyourself?”
“Making sure people like you do not dropdead before their finals end”, the man answered. He grinned at Riku again, hoistinghis own bag better on his shoulder.
Something fell out from under his shirt ashe did so, and Riku’s eyes almost automatically went to glance at it.
And stayed there.
It was a small, crown-shaped necklace, andit would’ve been nothing, if Riku had not recognized it immediately.
He looked back up at the man’s face, at theblue eyes and brown hair, and the feeling of Deja-vu clicked at place.
The man had not (thankfully) noticed Riku’staring or his widened eyes.
“I’m Sora”, Sora said, still smiling.
“You?”
Riku breathed in.
“Riku”, he said.
“Okay, Riku”, Sora said.
“The thing is, it’s raining like it’s thenext great flood of Genesis coming for us, and I don’t see you having an umbrellawith you. You live far away?”
“…kinda”, Riku said, hesitantly and stillin a slight shock.
“At Garden Park.”
“Which is on the other side of the city”,Sora pointed out.
Hey, the only time you should ever feel like you're posting too much of something is if you're forcing yourself to in the first place and don't enjoy it. We all know and like what you post, and seeing you post your passions lets us see more of who you are and what matters to you which is lovely. Post what you love and enjoy it! I know all of us will. 💜
//GIVES YOU THE BIGGEST AND WARMEST HUG KNOWN TO MANKIND// this was so sweet of you dear honestly thank you for taking the time to send something so kind to such a silly pumpkin like me. It really warms my heart AND I LITERALLY SPENT 10 MINS HIDING MY FACE BEHIND MY HANDS BECAUSE OF HOW LOVELY THIS MESSAGE WAS. I think sometimes I just get lost in my head at things that don’t matter and messages like this really help remind me of how ridiculous I’m being. AND YOU DEAR ARE A PRECIOUS CUTIE AND I HOPE YOU HAD THE MOST WONDERFUL DAY AS YOU SO RIGHTFULLY DESERVE!!
xanams replied to your post: would you stop reblogging Steven Universe stuff? I...
Y i k e s, I got this in reverse when I switched from yugioh to kingdom hearts… It’s literally your blog, why would you change what you post some random anon lmao
It’s also just you can have multiple things on your blog? Like mine is majority Steven Universe, Kingdom Hearts, gay things, my random thoughts and just whatever else appears on it. You don’t have to be locked in one specific thing, you can have whatever you want on it. And also like you said, it’s my blog I can post what I want on it.
5. have you cried at any point in the series?I generally cry whenever I think about Riku tbh. Don’t even need to be in game anymore *shrug* I cry when the opening theme plays, I cry at the ending. I cry.
11.difficulty you generally play on. I usually play the game on Hard the first time through, then I play on Critical and complete everything. At least I’m currently trying to do full critical on everything. So far I’ve only completed KH1 100% on critical.
15.favourite/most used drive formI love all the drive forms, I love their versatility. But I guess my favourite is Valor then followed by Master. Valor is just a ton to play with, esp because it makes juggling easy. And juggling is fun!—
How much I like it: actual cause of global warming | notp | don’t care | it’s okay | cute! | otp | MY BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN (whom I love very much)
“Their” song: ohhh goddddd do I really need to pick one??? but but but Billy Joels ‘You are my home’ is like very high on the list
Who does more housework: Riku. Sora is the one who runs around doing all the errands and fixing roofs and all that.
What couple cosplay they should do: probably Howl and Sophie from the Moving Castle
Who cried watching Toy Story 3: Sora. Riku tried to pretend he didn’t.
Who hogs the blankets at night: Sora first, Riku then hogs them back. They end up sleeping in a messy pile after that.
What they fight about: they more like argue about pretty regular stuff, like cleaning, money and why are you walking inside the house with your dirty shoes again you animal. They are quick to calm down because the instant Riku starts looking sad or whatever Sora is like NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Who has more Facebook friends: SORA. He adds absolutely everyone and their cousins.
One headcanon about them: both of them wanted to propose in very romantic manner, but they just had very different ideas of what a romantic proposal is. In the end they just ended up blurting the question in a situation that was what neither of them had had in their minds but it’s okay.
Namikai:
How much I like it: actual cause of global warming | notp | don’t care | it’s okay | cute! | otp | MY BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN
“Their” song: ‘Hetken tie on kevyt (For the moment road is light) ‘ by Tehosekoitin
Who does more housework: Kairi, though they are pretty equal in that.
What couple cosplay they should do: I feel like they would just love cosplaying Elsa and Anna from Frozen and entertain kids.
Who cried watching Toy Story 3: Both of them sniffed a few times, Kairi maybe a bit more (and then they looked over at Sora and Riku and brought tissues to them)
Who hogs the blankets at night: Namine. She just. Quietly rolls all the blanket around her and ends up being a blanket burrito.
What they fight about: I can’t really imagine them fighting about anything??
Who has more Facebook friends: Kairi, though she adds all of her friends to Namine too.
One headcanon about them: Kairi is one of those girlfriends who just shows around stuff their girlfriend did like “look at this! she is so talented!” and while Namine doesn’t necessarily say anything about it, it makes her draw even harder (especially stuff she knows Kairi will like)
