Isabella laughed loudly as Alina declared a need for tequila and began to follow along. Her steps slowed as she felt Noel take her hand and she could only smile wider as they asked for her back. She felt some of the crazy excitement that Alina seemed to emit ease away and she was on more steady ground with Noel by her side again.
"Good to know," the lawyer admitted. She wasn't a big fan of getting too drunk but with Alina's infectious enthusiasm for life she could see how it would be easy to be pulled in too deep quickly. "I won't try to outdrink her but we can certainly have a shot or two to start the night. Will you join me?"
Two shots and a vodka later Isabella was fully in the party spirit. She had met up with Gustavo and another couple of Noel's friends and was enjoying herself. She joined a group dancing and laughing as she sang along to the music and blew a kiss to Noel as she shimmied. Turning around she caught sight of someone standing on the edge of the watching group who seemed to be glaring across with such fury that Isabella stopped dancing and looked behind her, expecting to see someone staring back. There was no one there but as she turned back the angry person had disappeared. The moment had rattled her in a strange way and she no longer wanted to dance so she made her way to get another drink. As she reached across for a bottle she came face to face with the same person and she gasped, quickly trying to cover the sound with a cough. "Hi, I'm Isabella. I don't think we've met before."
"Of course I'll join you. Can't usher in the new year sober, mi amor," they teased with a kiss to her cheek. And they happily obliged, downing their first drink with ease before following with a shot and a drink they were sipping much more slowly as the night progressed. They wanted to steady themselves and they still had to take some photos.
Noel was flowing through the night taking photos and watching Isabella enjoy herself amongst the crowd. It made thier heart feel warm, to be in the same space with her to know that no matter what they would be going home together at the end of the night. Noel was in love, it was evident to anyone who talked to them about their partner but it was moments like these that Noel realized it more.
They had stepped away only for a moment to switch out their camera's battery and as they returned to the party and looked around, their heart sinking when they caught sight of who Isabella was talking to. "Oh fuck," they mumbled, trying not to look panicked as they slowly made their way through the crowd, clutching the camera by their side. As they got close they could hear the other person introducing themselves.
"Oh I know who you are," she replied to Isabella and looked her over. "I'm sure Noe has told you about me. I'm Eve." Noel had told Isabella about their ex but hadn't gone into more detail than it was a bad breakup. And Eve was as jealous as they came. Eve turned her head and smiled as she saw Noel near. "Well don't you look handsome," she said, her tone sweeter than it had been with Isabella but Noel went to Isabella's side, slid their arm around her waist and pressed a kiss to her cheek. "Amor, I..see you've met Eve." They turned to her and gave her a slight nod. "Happy New Year-Eve," they told her with a small laugh, hoping to break the tension. "What were you two talking about?"

At Noel's suggestion about where Alina might be, Isabella looked to the back of the apartment where their friend was indeed wandering around the buffet table and clearly scrutinising the dishes. With a chuckle the lawyer took Noel's arm as they made their way over to deliver the orchid. The photographer frequently glanced across at Isabella and as she heard their quiet words about her outfit she tried to conceal her glee. "This old thing? I just grabbed the first outfit I found in my wardrobe," Isabella remarked with an attempt at casual dismissal but the look of delight and mischief on her face told a completely different story. Her stomach swirled in warm delight that she had achieved her aim of dressing to impress.
Her mind began to wander to whether they would get any time alone together at the party when Isabella was suddenly pulled from her thoughts by Alina's arms hugging her tightly. "Yes this is for you," she grinned as she held out the bag with the orchid. "As the saying goes 'I saw it and thought of you'." It was hard not to laugh at Alina's enthusiasm for everything, not to mention Noel's reaction to her words. Everything was just fun and light hearted and Isabella was enjoying the friendly banter. "Thank you for the food review," she laughed. "I'm starving but at least now I know to avoid the dip."
She found herself linked arms with Alina rather than her partner which amused her greatly as Noel was taking photos instead. The whirlwind of Alina surrounded her and Isabella's cheeks were bursting with joy. Her gaze flickered over to Noel's at the mention of their Christmas visit to their family and her heart leaped at the photographer's words about their mom. "It was good, Noel was totally right that their cousins are a riot but I had a great time and...," she glanced at Noel with a loving gaze, "I think we are even closer than before." There had certainly been a few challenging, emotional moments during the visit but it made her even more convinced that Noel was the right one for her. Smiling softly and holding her partner's gaze for a second she turned back to Alina, "How was your Christmas? Any tall, dark, fit parcels under the Christmas tree?" Hearing their response she grinned before suggesting, "I think we all need alcohol, let's get some drinks."
Noel was grateful to have their camera to cover their blush as Isabella spoke about them being closer. It was true despite the fact that Noel had been nervous. But the tears had flowed and the hugs came soon after and Isabella was right, they were closer and it felt like their trust in each other had really started to bloom. Noel winked at Isabella before letting their camera rest around their neck.
"Oh it was fine, I went home to hear my mother complain about everything but she did make a hell of a meal so can I really complain?" Alina shrugged it off, her own relationship with her family a complicated one but she loved them despite it all. "And sadly no but your amazing partner here got me a new coffee table so that'll do," she teased, knowing she could be broody but really, Alina was fairly happy with her life at the moment. At least she wasn't still tied to someone who was bringing her down. "And this is why I love you, you're absolutely right. This night desperately needs more tequila."
Noel finally slid up next to Isabella and took her hand. "You mind if I get my girlfriend back?" Alina rolled her eyes playfully and went ahead to the bar and Noel pressed a kiss to Isabella's cheek.
"Just be careful when she starts suggesting shots. Not that I won't happily carry you home but she's a hard one to out drink."

Another shift crept by as the blonde shoved fresh napkins into the dispensers to get ahead of her sidework. A lack of customers meant she'd be going home with pocket change in tips and a near-useless hourly wage. It was those kinds of days that made her question herself entirely. This was the life she'd chosen, but came up empty-handed for anything to show of all her hard work. With only a few tables, all of which were currently enjoying their meals, there wasn't much for her to do besides loiter. That didn't go over well with the owners, which meant the blonde knew to keep herself busy. Whether it was rolling silverware, re-stocking the cups, or some other sidework, her hands were never idle. That was until a customer arrived and blue orbs popped to greet them, along with a thousand-watt smile. A familiar face toned down her initial waitress persona to reveal the girl he knew underneath. "You're just sayin' that," Fallon replied with a wave off of his compliment, in case it wasn't how he intended it. Still, she'd never mind if he wished to consider her a view.
The blonde's face fell into one of disapproval at his own jab. "I don't think you can look bad. It just ain't possible," she conceded with a shrug and a smile waxing into place. "No room to judge here. Order up, sugar." Her hands were held up in defence before being used in preparing the notepad to take down his order. Besides, he needed the fuel to keep up his physique as far as she was concerned. Fallon took the clock on the opposite wall for assistance, having forgotten hers on the dresser that morning; maybe that was playing a part in why the shift left like it was dragging its feet. "Only got an hour left now, so I'm in the home stretch," the blonde replied happily while not letting him get away from her own selfish desires. "You lookin' for some company?"
"You say that now but you've never seen me first thing in the morning," he replied with a bit of a shy smile, still his gaze didn't fall from hers. "Alright, we're definitely doing an order of waffles, a pepper and cheese omlette with fries instead of homefries, a side of fruit, your largest cup of coffee and one of those delicious slices of pies. All together would be great. Oh! And a cranberry juice. Of course." He looked over the menu one more time to make sure he wasn't missing anything before sliding it back towards her. His smile widened at her questions. "Yeah, actually. Was thinking I could give you a ride home if you need one. Or a ride to anywhere, really, I kind of think I'll have a hard time falling asleep tonight. Always do after a shift like this."
Most would think a shift that exauhsting would put him right to sleep but mostly it made it hard for his mind to calmd own long enough for him to rest. "But I mean if you have plans it's alright, of course," he told her after, realizing he might have been a bit too forward. "But I'll be here."
casper's trying her best to help, truly. she was doing pretty well, to be fair with carrying it up, but once they reached their apartment, she was lost in a haze of pine and getting distracted by jordan's panting. thankfully, she wasn't caught, happy to watch at her took the last couple of steps and set the tree their picked together up against the wall. she beamed. "victory!" laughed a bit when he dropped to the floor, her eyes flitting between their tree and his form. in their apartment. that part still caught her, stole her breath. jordan's. and her's. theirs. "or he just uses christmas magic to conjure a tree up or something," casper added as she walked over to pick up their box of decorations, setting it down next to where he laid. "ready!" she dropped down to her knees and almost pawed at his belly affectionately. "but we can also take break, y'know. christmas cheer isn't going anywhere yet."
"definitely magic. maybe we need to travel to the north pole to siphon some of it." jordan wiggled his eyebrows and laughed. "yeah but we got the momentum, babe. and i made a killer christmas playlist," he added, digging into his pocket for his phone to connect it to his speakers. pretty soon 'merry christmas, happy holidays' by nsync was playing through the apartment speakers and jordan was getting to his feet to dance. "has to be one of the best holiday songs made, i have to be honest." he took her hands to spin her around, singing the lyrics before he kissed her. "okay, now comes the true test, how particular are you when it comes to decorating a tree? my sister used to be a real stickler about where i placed the ornaments."

He wasn’t usually the type of person to overthink things, but for some reason, he was overthinking this. The Witch had been standing in front of the two options for quite a while. Someone had walked up to him at one point and asked him if he needed anything. He thanked them, smiled, and shook his head.
Originally, he had wanted to offer Shawn soju or makgeolli. The other man hadn’t explicitly said anything, but Jinhwan knew when to read between the lines. Mostly. sparkling cider felt like a good alternative. He knew that non-alcoholic beers were becoming popular–he just wasn’t sure if it would be something Shawn liked.
When he arrived at the door, he was holding a lovely glass bottle filled with sparkling apple cider, and flowers wrapped in parchment in the other. He had called Shawn on the way over, letting him know that he’d be there soon. Jinhwan wasn’t sure why his heart was racing.
Shawn was nervous. More nervous than he was used to but as he cleaned up his apartment that morning he realized that he cared about impressing Jinhwan. He wanted him to feel welcome in his space and even more he wanted him to want to come back to his place whenever he wanted to see him. And Shawn wanted to see him. A thought that flushed his cheeks and made his stomach feel tense. But in a pleasant way. Not that he could full admit that to himself yet.
So he was already by the door when Jinhwan arrived and took a breath before swinging the door open. He looked at him first, then the flowers then the bottle. "Sparkling cider, how'd you know?" He was grateful it wasn't alcohol, not wanting to have to explain it all yet, but he couldn't stop looking at the flowers, feeling like a warmth had overwhelmed his chest. "Are...those for me?"

Isabella smoothed a hand down the silky fabric of her dress and glanced at her reflection in the mirrored walls of the elevator, checking her hair and make up for the hundredth time since she left her appartment. Her stomach was in knots, some with excitement at spending New Years Eve with Noel and having a fun night with them and their friends. The other knots were more on the anxious side as she knew there were going to be plenty of people she had not met yet and she really wanted them to like her and be happy for her and Noel. The one thought that was keeping her calm, beyond being with Noel, was the fact she had already met Gustavo and Alina a few times and so she would have other people beyond the photographer to talk to.
As the elevator neared the floor she glanced at her reflection one last time, a smile creeping over her lips at the way her hair sat in soft waves thanks to leaving work early for a last minute appointment with her hairdresser. As the door opened she stepped out and looked around for a moment until her gaze found Noel and then the smile stretched even further across her lips. She stepped forward, laughing softly as the photographer failed to finish her sentence. "Hi," she whispered as her hand was kissed before she was pulled into a hug. Noel's words rippled through her, spreading warmth and joy. "You are too kind," she replied as she slowly pulled back, taking a good look at her partner. "That shirt looks stunning bello. Is it new?" she asked with a mischevious smile, knowing it was one she had bought them for Christmas. Breaking their gaze away for a moment she looked around the room, "Do you know where Alina is? I brought her an orchid as a gift, do you remember the one she was talking about last time we met?"
"Ah yes, someone with excellent taste got it for me," Noel told her with a silly grin as they smoothed a hand over their stomach for a moment. They felt like the shirt had been perfect for the occasion and it was extra special that Isabella seemed to know their taste so well. "I think she's inspecting those appetizers for quality assurance," they joked, sure that Alina was doing her own personal rating of everything on the table before it actually got served. "You did? Aw babe, that's so sweet. You're already her favorite, you're trying to win more points?" They teased, pressing a kiss to her cheek before holding out their arm to lead her further into the party, having a hard time looking away from her. "Did you know that you were going to make my knees feel weak with that dress?" Their words were soft so only she could hear but they hoped she could see the adoration in their eyes.
"There she is!" Before Noel could say anything else, Alina had spotted the two of them and pulled Isabella in for a hug. "Oh my god, tell me this orchid is for me? You better be careful or Noe is gonna have some competition," she teased, causing Noel to roll their eyes. "That would require you to commit to something Al," they shot back with a grin before pulling up their camera to snap a photo of both of them. "How's the spread?" Alina scrunched up her nose. "Test for yourself but do not, and I repeat, do not try the spinach artichoke dip it is....so gross." She shivered before linking her arm with Isabella's. "So, tell me, how was surviving your first Aguilar Christmas, hm? Did Valeria grill you? She scared the shit out of me the first time I met her."
Noel laughed and gave Alina a little nudge. "That's because you're a chicken. She loves Isabella, not that I had any doubt."

felix is the worst kind of person when it comes to phone usage. they've started to use apps that blocks their screen time. they can't help it! they mainly use their phone to message their friends and look at inspiration pictures on pinterest. it's also hard to not be on their phone all the time when their job literally depends on it.

whewieee! work has been a litlte wild and busy but since it's a holiday week i'm hoping i can get on and do some replies! decemeber is also wild busy so i appreciate the grace and patience y'all always show me <3

Felix sighed, looking down at their phone. For the past few weeks, their brain had been doing its favorite trick–turning absolutely everything into an overthinking Olympics. Xander hadn’t even been mad about the secret; he’d said he thought Felix was cool, which should’ve been reassuring. It was. Kind of. But the little knot of insecurity in Felix’s chest refused to budge.
It was hard to shake old habits of second guessing everything, but when they realized they had overanalyzed the amount of time it took for Xander to respond to their fucking reel, they knew they had to calm down. It was fine.
So they stood in front of the door, holding a pack of Xander’s favorite beer. When the door swung open, Felix grinned. “Hey,” they said, voice light and teasing. “Your for-rent magician has arrived. I figured out a bunch of new tricks to show you.”
"Do they include pulling rabbits out of a hat or is that like an offensive thing to say to a witch?" Xander laughed as he opened his apartment door wider for Felix to walk in before following after them. "But I'm here for whatever you want to show me. I've been doing some reading," he admitted, after finally getting his sisters to admit what he already knew. It had been a long conversation and Xander had found that he was a bit more angry to be left in the dark than he thought but now he was just trying to really process the fact that in a family of witches, he somehow wasn't one. Well he and his father so he wasn't totally alone but it didn't make it sting any less.
"Make yourself at home," he told Felix not that he really needed to. Felix had been there so often, Xander was thinking about giving them a key for emergenices. His only hestitaiton was that Felix was likely to use it for everything but an emergency and Xander was still a bit territorial over his space and peace. "You want something to drink? I have all of your favorites."
Dani couldn't stop the bright laugh that left her at his admission, and she felt some of the tension she hadn't realized she was holding release from her shoulders at his honesty. "Well, I do appreciate you taking my health into consideration." she teased through another chuckle. "Although, I would've been okay with a grilled cheese." she teased, recalling that was one of the only things he ever made back in school. Dark hues looked at the set table, and a small smile spread over her lips. "You've upgraded from paper, I'm impressed." she teased playfully. It was alarming how effortless it was to slip back into a comfortable teasing conversation with Clark as though no time had passed. She paused for just a second when he pulled out her chair before offering a small nod and taking a seat. Had his cheeks flushed? She couldn't be certain. "Sure, a beer, or a seltzer, whatever, I'm not super picky." she answered with a small shrug.
The brunette laughed at his words, her head shaking as she started putting food on her plate from the options. "Well, you never were the most decisive." she mused, the slight smirk on the corner of her lips showing she was teasing. "But I'm never going to be mad about more food options over less." she assured, reaching over and grabbing a fry to pop in her mouth as she spooned potatoes onto her plate. "So, purely from a professional standpoint," she started, unable to hide her widening smirk, showing she meant it not at all that way. "Did you enjoy the wedding?"
He laughed with her, feeling himself ease up more at the sound of it. "I mean I don't know if the grilled cheese tastes as good off the stove as it did in that george forman mini grill I was definitely not supposed to have in the dorms." He shook his head as he thought about it but he had made some seriously great sandwiches on that thing. "I know, growth is an amazing thing," he teased, grabbing her a beer and a seltzer just so she had options. He set them down along with a cup of ice, figuring that covered all of the bases while just grabbing a beer for himself. He figured it would help settle himself a bit more and have some fun instead of being in his head the entire conversation.
Clark was glad to see she was happy with the food selection and when she was done he put a healthy serving of everything onto his plate. His nerves had prevented him from eating too much today and now he was starving. "Mm well from a professional standpoint, I think chicken was a little dry there," he teased, laughing so she knew he was joking. "No, it was great. Probably the best one I've been too but I might be bias because my best friends were getting married so kind of made the whole thing that much better. DJ didn't suck. The photobooth was great, I have so many of those little strips and only remember taking like half of the photos. Open bar was on point and even the signature drink didn't suck so, what more do you really need a wedding, right? Did you have fun? I had fun. I think Erica and Jeremy had the most fun but I was pretty close to having the most fun."
okay my last meeting of the day was cancelled and i'm pretty on top of my work so i'm gonna do my best to focus on replies!!!
i'm also gonna try to take some time later this week to refresh/revamp my muse page so it's more up to date!
the next four days are super busy but i'll try my best to get a few replies out in between things!! if not then i'll be back on Mondayyyy <3
