Character breakdown: Violet Parr! :3
How I feel about this character: Violet Parr was probably one of the first characters that I ever really connected with. I was in 5th grade when the movie came out, and I was really painfully shy as a kid. I’m still shy now, but I was pretty much always the quiet kid who was uncomfortable with my body despite society’s assertions that thin=beautiful and that there could be no way I was uncomfortable with being so thin (still working on this, if I’m honest). And there was Violet. A teenaged, shy, skinny girl who didn’t seem comfortable with who she was and just wanted to be normal. And she found herself- her strengths, her self-worth, her bravery. Honestly, Violet is still one of my favorite characters ever and I still identify with her a lot.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: No one, really? I mean I know part of her story was working up the nerve to ask Tony Ridinger out but that was never a part of her story that I identified with. I mean it’s cute, but not really that developed so... eh?
My non-romantic OTP for this character: I mean there’s not very many characters in the movie apart from her family, but ever since Disney bought Marvel I’ve been waiting for a crossover thing in which she’d probably be best friends with all the Avengers. Possibly using her invisibility to freak Tony out every now and then ehe.
My unpopular opinion about this character: WHY DO PEOPLE SHIP HER WITH SYNDROME LIKE WHERE THE HECK DID THAT COME FROM???? I mean I sort of get the whole hero’s enemy/hero’s daughter trope being a thing I guess, but??? I really don’t see Violet going for that at all.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: CAN THE SECOND MOVIE JUST BE TOLD ENTIRELY FROM HER VIEWPOINT THANKS BRAD BIRD. I KNOW YOU’RE WRITING THE SCRIPT/STORYBOARDING NOW PROBABLY.
