It WAS hard to understand because... Hiro meant so much more to her than words could describe. She really hadn't been able to put a label on her feelings for Hiro, yet here he was, shouting it at her...
"Love," she muttered, running her hand through her hair and blushing. "Hiro... you... do you really?"
It seemed so impossible. He couldn't love her... he was... well, he was Hiro and she was Honey...
