Теперь с «Xbox Elite Controller Series 2». И Он ультра прекрасен.
I'd been thinking about getting a second Xbox Elite Controller. Don't want to regret putting too many more sweaty hours into my Halo Infinite one, wear shiny, greasy blotches into its matte shell, and ruining it permanently. So last week, I spent some time playing around with Xbox Design Lab. (There was a learning curve, but I am now quite familiar with using the paddles when playing Halo. Not really looking to go back to a regular controller now.)
Had been tossing up about maybe something with purple if I want to go for a controller that's kinda personal, or something grey and black (and gold) to go with the Infinite console. But coincidentally, earlier this week, Xbox updated the options for the Elite Controller in the Design Lab! (New colours, and even splitting out the bumper from the triggers.)
So now I'm wondering about:
Cloning the Halo 5 Master Chief controller. (I really liked its gold D‑pad and triggers.)
Making a modern version of the controller that came with the Halo 3 edition of the Xbox 360. (My first Xbox!)
Blending the two. (I do still like seeing the ABXY buttons in full colour.)

The Xbox Elite Controller Get’s a Cheaper Version and Comes to the Design Lab
Xbox has announced a cheaper version of the Xbox Elite Controller in white. The Elite Controller 2 Core is the same great controller without the case, dock, and accessories with a new price of $129.99. Outside of the pristine white color, the controller is entirely the same. This base package includes the controller, charging cable, the thumbstick adjustment tool, and all of the base buttons that…

Unlike my Series X, my Elite controller preorder did deliver on time.
Already moved over the Chatpad.
From the brief half‑ish hour I had tonight: despite how I imagined it in my head, switching to shifting with the paddles in Forza Motorsport 7 is actually not entirely straightforward. With shifting down mapped to the left paddles, for example, it's going to take some mental retraining to not forget about also paying attention to the left trigger when braking, so that the brakes don't lock and/or trigger the ABS. Three left fingers used to be idle and my brain only had to process one fingertip and thumb, but adding a third is throwing me.
I am also still wary that there are plenty of reports around the web from other users regarding the durability of the Elite controllers, even with the Series 2. (Though it's not really possible, just from online posts, to objectively judge and compare the way they use their controllers against myself.) In the rush, I did actually put in a preorder for the controller with JB Hi‑Fi first, before securing one through Microsoft afterwards. So I could've had two, but ended up cancelling the JB one. Part of me does wish I didn't so that I have a pristine one for backup or display…or something, but I'm telling myself I'm careful and gentle, and that letting it go was right in this current period of out‐of‐control scalping.
Xbox Elite Controller 2
