He'd been here now almost 2 weeks, he never stayed anywhere this long, and yet here he was now, still here still surviving, still clinging to a past where his life had, had some semblance of normalcy. Before Magneto, before the Labs, before Victor. Things had changed of course they had, sure Bobby, Kitty and Marie were happy to have him back, and he'd spend time with them almost everyday, feeling whole, feeling complete again, his mind not slipping as much during the day into the past, because his past was now his present and his brain was content with that. But, he was pretty sure it wasn't those three that was keeping him here.
No, that was Charles, his one time teacher, turned he's not even sure what to think of the older man now. Most nights he woke up drenched in sweat his room, at least 50 degree's warmer then the rest of the house. He'd shower then go in search of the older man, finding him in his study, or the library, on a few occasions in his room. But, nothing like the night he'd had the Panic attack in front of the older man had ever happened again. Most night's he'd just curl up on the couch, or a chair and just fall back asleep, sleeping better when he was near the older man, then he did when he was alone. It was weird, awkward even, but he felt safe and comforted when ever he was near the older man. He almost wanted to say it was the same feeling he had with Victor, but...it wasn't so one sided....it was nice.
John was currently outside though, his eyes focusing on the small ball of flame he has hovering just above the grass, trying to change its shape, his brow is furrowed, as he manipulates the ball into the shape of a rose, and then into several small bugs, that he slowly begins to let wink in and out of existence, reminding him of the fireflies he used to chase in the summer.
