Also Jas punching Luc in the face ‘because he upset his sister” though it was mostly because he was also SO upset when Luc left; he lost his best friend and he’s mad about it.

It had been an awful day. As exams began to approach and the college curriculum became more challenging by the week, Hisui was feeling the consequences of not having studied nearly enough to succeed. She’d been too occupied with this beautiful new life outside of her father’s four walls, and all the wonderful new people she’d met in the last few months.

Especially him.

She watched as his car - far from her father’s Bentley and James’ Lamborghini - pulled into the now-quiet college car park, looking upon in with a surprising amount of fondness for someone who hadn’t a car in the world for automobiles of any kind. After late-evening study sessions like these, even his humble car looked like a saviour to her tired eyes. Hisui smiled, picking up her heavy bag of course books before making her hasty approach.

Said bag was tossed carefully over onto the back seats as she joined him on the passenger’s side, but before she settled into the car, she took a quick glance around them. They were alone.

That gave her all the confidence she needed.

Before he’d barely had the chance to greet her, Hisui’s hands moved to gently cup his cheeks, before her plump lips came to press against his - albeit, in a slightly more callous fashion than her initial touch had been. For several seconds, she lingered with her body hovering over his, but ended the kiss as she threw her arms around his shoulders, and settled promptly into the man’s lap.

Soft green eyes looked into his for a moment, before they closed, resting her forehead against his and allowing a heavy sigh to cascade from her lips. It was a little snug, sitting with him like this, and perhaps a little on the suggestive side - especially for someone like her. But she was simply glad to be so close to him, to the man who had taken her into his life in spite of having every reason to push someone of her status away.

           “ Thank you for coming to get me, Luke. ”  

Her lips brushed against his as she spoke  

        “ And sorry I’ve been so distant these past few weeks…college is getting a little time-consuming. I’ve missed you more than anything. But I’m going to make it up to you tonight. ”

Call it camaraderie. Call it, as Levin loved to put it, an obsession with strays. A big brother syndrome, this deep need to protect and give himself a sense of purpose - do something /good/. Call it any of that, but what it was was /stupid/. One look at her swaying form and he'd reached out, fist grabbing a handful of the back of her shirt in one hand, to keep her from face planting the floor, and he knew he'd screwed himself into babysitting duty. "Who the fuck taught you how to drink?"

It was a strange feeling to be suspended by ones’ own clothing, held up only by the solitary fist of a near-perfect stranger. She hadn’t known the man long enough for her to recognise his voice, and at first, the girl had reacted with some alarm. Once a near-terrified glance had been cast over her shoulder, however, she soon settled down again.

It wasn’t hard. The alcohol had served as somewhat of a sedative.

Hisui looked up at him with big, curious eyes, taking just a few moments longer to process his words than she would have done if he were sober. What was his name, again? Levi? Louis? …No. 

Luke? Yes. 

                           “ W-well…no one..? ”

It was true. Though the girls from her college class were responsible for dressing her up pretty and handing her a constant supply of drinks, they had done little more than that, having now abandoned her in their pursuit for more alcohol and boys. The rest of this disaster had been caused by her lack of inexperience with the world of alcoholic beverages, and how many one was supposed to drink before stopping.

And she’d lost count.

In the very least, it had lifted her awkward barrier just a little, and a sheepish smile tugged at the corners of her immaculately painted lips as once pale cheeks blushed bright red. This was a shocking experience, indeed, and it was plenty obvious that she was well out of her depth. At least she’d come across one familiar face - or, more accurately, the familiar face had come across her.

                   “ I…haven’t really done anything like this before. Not really… ”

'Listen the fuck up. Don't ever say that again. It isn't some cutsie little abbreviation or whatever. It means Down. To. /FUCK/. So unless that's what you're down for, please.... /don't/.'

Usually, Luke raising his voice and scolding her made her nothing more than varying degrees of upset. 

This, however, was something far different. The distress was still present - it always was when he raised his voice - but another feeling, something far less familiar, was also stirred up by his words. In fact, it was more of a pain for her to try and figure out what this unknown emotion could be than it was for her to face the mortifying reality of her misused abbreviation. 

What was it? Attraction?

Hisui’s cheeks, once drained of their colour in the wake of her error, were now redder than ever before. Dainty, lace-gloved hands rose to cup her face, as if hiding the visual evidence of what might have been a forbidden ‘dirty’ thought tainting her once innocent mind. Did…did she want to engage him in such a way? The girl found herself too embarrassed (too flustered, even!) to look him in the eyes, so how on Earth was she supposed to form a coherent vocal response?

Oh, right. She couldn’t. Even as her troubled green gaze finally aligned with his, all the Princess could manage was a measly, high-pitched squeak.

ASKS FOR SHORT PEOPLE (accepting!)

Of course, she knew she was at a disadvantage. It had been evident from a young age that her father had passed on his genetics when it came to height, and it made daily tasks a considerably larger challenge for her than it was for those several inches taller than her. Hisui found herself quite frustrated, on a daily basis, by her lack of vertical prowess, and it certainly didn’t help to have the tallest man she knew criticising her. 

       “ Do you think saying that is going to help me, Luke-san? ”

Her tone was a little feistier than usual, but it maintained a degree of friendliness in spite of her blatant annoyance. This was Hisui, after all. Malice did not come easily to her, even when she willed it to. An uncharacteristically large sigh escaped her form as she sized up the challenge before: her favourite crisps were on the top shelf, and all she had was the narrow kitchen counter to aid her in her quest. 

Her first attempt to scale it failed miserably, and the young woman was lucky not to tumble down completely. The second attempt saw her thrown over the granite worktop, though now unable to see how to progress from there. It seemed this really was destined for failure…

…and he was right. The girl whined petulantly. 

        “ …I-I’d very much appreciate your assistance, Luke-san…please. ”

It wasn’t hesitation that made her response - physical and vocal alike - so slow. No, it was the care she took with others that made her so steady, and the calmness with which she executed every single one of her movements. Regardless of her pace, Hisui did as instructed, and her dainty hands sought out his, the pad of each thumb soft against the skin of his knuckles as they soothed over them.

                  “ Rough… ”

The young woman echoed, a confirmation of what he had to say. He was right - there was nothing smooth about him, nor the hands that she still held in hers. But she still held them, and only now did hesitation make its timely appearance in her reluctance to let them go.

                “ But that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.                          It’s not a bad thing to me. ”
