I re-watched Squid Game season 1 and then watched season 2!

Here are timestamps with no spoilers for anyone with photosensitivity because oh god season 2 can be brutal. The highlighted parts are the ones that are strobes and the rest are smaller things I felt needed mentioning 💜

This next image has more detail on the strobe parts so you know when exactly to look away or pause without having to look at the time stamps but it will have spoilers!

Fellow Epileptics & seizure havers, What's the most ignorant/ableist thing people have said to you?

Some of mine are:

A secretary at my doctors office saying "Sit down your appointment is soon, would you like some water?" when I went to them in a panic to say I feel like I'm about to have a seizure.

2 different nurses dismissing my memory issues because "everyone forgets things" or because I could remember what I was wearing that week, I was "obviously fine" (I wear the same thing 90% of the time)

Being sent a troll link that traps you on a flashing site and when I told them that could have harmed me because I have photosensitive epilepsy, they laughed.

I can't remember if there were anything else but those are the biggest experiences that upset me.

Let me know your experiences, it doesn't have to be anything big. I just want everyone to know they're not alone with being treated wrong 💚

I'm trying hard to spread awareness so these experiences can stop happening because you know It's bad when people in the medical field are as ignorant as the general public..

Also people with non-epileptic seizures, you're included too!!

bonus thing that annoys me: I've been trying to see a neurologist for months now over my seizures changing and concerns about my brain but having no luck. I'm tired of having to keep poking my doctor for a referral...

I guess this is the price of buying early access games but I'm so sad a a game I have added lightning and thunder into the game...and so far no setting to turn it off for photosensitive people.

If they don't plan to fix that then I just own a game I can't play (again)

I've never found a space where I can talk about my Epilepsy before and I feel like Tumblr might be the place!

I have some information that I feel could be helpful to anyone who struggles with taking tablet medication.

I've been on tablets for my seizures for about 9 years and I was finally told a couple months ago that I can get liquid form of my medication....why no one told me sooner, I don't know.

I HATE TAKING TABLETS! I've always struggled to take them no matter what I tried. So I switched to liquid form and It has been AMAZING. I actually take my medication more regularly now!

So I want to share this information for anyone else who might have not known because It's been a big help for me.

If you struggle taking tablets, bug your doctor to find out if you can get a liquid form because it might exist and they just never bothered to tell you!

Is there a way to complain to Netflix that their photosensitivity strobe lights warning needs to be longer and more in my face because the amount of times I don't even notice it, or if you skip the intro it glitches out and makes it not appear.

The number of times I just thought they didn't put one up because I did not see it is not good.

I didn't see one when I watched Squid Game Episode 4 when that came out (that messed me up), and I'm glad I had my friends to warn me about Black Mirror Episode 4 because when I went to double-check if that had one, I actually missed it 2 times before I finally saw it the 3rd attempt to triple check before complaining.

Also speaking of Squid Game Episode 4, some kind soul on YouTube edited out every single flash from that scene. It's so nice to actually know what happens finally.

Now I just need someone to do that to Black Mirror episode 4.
