The job was supposed to be easy. She shouldn’t have been surprised when she was lied too. Jinx is a good thief, but she wasn’t prepared for such an advanced security system. It took her too long to dismantle it, and too her annoyance she found herself missing Gizmo because he would have done it in probably a quarter of the time.
Her employers needed some sort of weapon blueprints - or, more specifically, they wanted to steal their weapon blueprints back. For the price they were paying her, she didn’t mind dipping her toe into this. But maybe she should jack up her price because it was a pain in the ass.
She made up for her lost time by getting to the blueprints quickly. Jinx grinned, rolling them up and stuffing them into the little capsule A few well-aimed hexes, and she’d be back to her bike and cruising down the street before anyone could realize something was wrong.
Or so she thought. Just her luck, people started shooting at her. Shit. Where the hell had they come from?! Jinx shot angry hexes, and tore down the down the corridor. What had she tripped? She’d taken a bit to break the security system, but Jinx was certain she had taken it out -
Jinx bolted around the corner when she almost ran into a flash of red - wait. That wasn’t right. Hadn’t she seen him somewhere before? He wasn’t supposed to be here. She didn’t have time to dwell on the figure before she had to turn around casting bright, angry hexes in the direction of those pursuing her. Damn, was she going to have to bring the entire building down??
“I’d get out of here if I were you!” Jinx called, carelessly over her shoulder.
