Paula Abdul Takes First Trip to Israel

American singer, multi-platinum recording artist, choreographer, dancer, television personality, Grammy and Two-time Emmy award-winner Paula Abdul arrived this week , as a guest of the Israel Tourism Ministry, for her first visit to Israel, Israel's Tourism Ministry announced today.

During her stay, Abdul will meet with the Tourism Minister Dr. Uzi Landau. Abdul, who has recently become more connected to her Jewish heritage, will  experience the many faces of Israel during this, her first visit to the country - the modern vibrant and innovative side of Israel alongside the multi-cultural, historical and religious side. Abdul is expected to visit the main tourist sites in Israel, including, among others, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the Galilee.  She will also have the opportunity to explore Israel’s fashion, dance, culinary and music scene and meet with some of Israel’s best in these fields which are of special interest to Abdul.

Abdul, born in Los Angeles to Jewish parents, began her dancing career at the age of 8, becoming a sought-after choreographer, including, among others, video clips for Janet Jackson and others. She later began to compose music and sing, enjoying much success. She starred in the hit reality show about her life "Hey Paula" and, in recent years, has served as a judge on the popular American talent shows "American Idol" and "X-Factor".
